I went to college in Florida to become a professional pilot. Graduated in 2015 and went on to work as an aerial survey pilot. Basically, we would get sent out to cities across the states and Canada, and would take GoogleEarth-style photos of the cities and surrounding land. After about a year of that, I continued my flight training to achieve my Flight Instructor Certificate. I'm now working as a flight instructor, here in my hometown in Delaware, teaching students just starting out in their aviation journey!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Got involved with couchsurfing through a family member a few years ago and enjoyed the experience! Ever since I've been a child, I've loved traveling. Couchsurfing, in my opinion, is the best way to get a one of a kind experience when visiting somewhere new!

Interests

I kind of lucked out with my profession, flying is definitely what I'm most interested in. My grandfather was an aircraft navigator in the airforce around the time of the Vietnam War, so growing up, I heard countless tales about his flying adventures. That was the biggest influence in determining what I wanted to do with my life.

With taking trips across the United States as well as two trips to Germany, and the surrounding countries, as a child, it kind of became hardwired into me the thrill and adventure of traveling to new and exciting places.

Throughout my life I have been involved with music. My two older sisters began playing several instruments and also singing. For me it started with cello lessons that I didn't particularly enjoy. From there I began taking drumming lessons, which I also became disinterested in after about one or two years. Things were looking bleak until middle-school when I joined the school choir and had a fantastic teacher who got me involved in several different choirs. In highschool, I met one of my best friends, who played guitar, and we started a band with me relearning to play the drums. The band eventually broke up, but we have both stayed involved in music. Since moving back home after college, we've been playing in a praise band for a Methodist Church in our hometown!

I listen to a lot of different styles of music, but a few of my go to favorite bands are City and Colour, Zac Brown Band, Pierce the Veil, Four Year Strong, Dispatch, Guster, Billy Joel, Led Zeppelin, and countless others

Also a pretty big movie watcher, but hard to narrow down a favorite. A few movies that I could watch at pretty much any time are The Big Lebowski, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Star Wars trilogy, and Snatch
