About Me

I'm a Leader in Design for Social Activism and Cultural Revolution, who has now got a foot in the door of the professional Arts & Entertainment industry. After 12 years of collegiate education, 12 years of ministry service/missionary tours, working in 25 industries across 42 sectors of society, serving in Federal Government, passionate social activism even up to the level of testifying before Congress as a Subject Matter Expert for new legislation protecting workers nationwide, co-designing a new certification/adjudication branch for same, and starting an international creative problem-solving design Think Tank to take this nation forward----

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

----I think it's time to do a little something for Me, too. Something that refills my spirit and inspirational storehouse. I'm making time for Joy, to re-kindle Wonder and rediscover the parts of this crazy world still Lovable. Some fresh Perspectives and Viewpoints. And the only way to do that is to stand in some new places. :D

So I'm cannon-balling myself into my First Love, the Arts & Communications world. I'm learning everything I can get my hands on and participating in anything I can get away with doing. ;D I'm taking a No Limitations approach, meaning if somebody tries to discriminate against me I'm not going accept that limit for myself, I'm gonna find a way to do it anyway. Though I started out in the Space Program, making a full-time career of the Arts is proving to be my actual Final Frontier. Now that I've discovered CouchSurfing and all it can make possible, removing most of the barriers that kept me from my first Love all these decades, making it possible to participate in the Arts everywhere they are happening, to really Lift My Voice, finally, and soak up as much inspiration for the same as this giant World has to offer, I'm jumping at this chance and going for it!

I'm headed back down to the South-East corner of the USA to get ready for the Big Journey, then crossing the entire USA, then crossing the Border, into a grand new chapter of my life. And, hopefully, along the way, discovering where Home truly is. :D Since I'm a new 'Surfer, I'm eager to learn as much as I can from my fellows who have ventured ahead of me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a wide variety and spectrum of music, but I suppose what I enjoy most are things that go deep or go big: challenging and protest music or epic and dramatic music. Something with a lot of really good bass. My favorite movies are old movies, including the eternally classic musicals, but I prefer stage plays to film when I get the choice. And I am a voracious consumer of books, typically the non-fiction kind I expect to find useful in some way. Though lately I’ve taken to reading stage play scripts and those are typically fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saved someone's life by annoyingly repeating the song "I'm Henery the 8th I am, Henery the 8th I am I am....."

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm looking to learn:

--- Any kind of Arts you do, or have going on near you,

--- as well as your Culture and others existing around you,

--- more French and (Southern Gulf) Arabic,

--- how to work remotely and/or flexibly so I can make more money even while I'm traveling,

--- tips for fixing up my Van, CouchSurfing, and travel.

And no doubt a million other things, because my brain is always hungry for something new :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

Feeling stuck? I'm a Design Engineer and Creative Problem Solver with a background so diverse, I can help you get unstuck by sharing solutions and ideas from other areas of life you may have never considered before. The best solutions come from the intersections of worlds!

High quality discussion of the Deep Stuff of Life, without the uncomfortable drama, pressure tactics, or arguing you see people resorting to on TV. Just a leisurely, slow-paced, contemplative exchange of ideas and learnings and what-ifs. As a former Human Factors Scientist, Design Engineer for the Space Program, Deliverance Minister, Experimental Performing Artist, and Outdoorsy Adventure type I'm all about the kind of exploration that's actually fun.

I was a professional Near-Eastern Dance Arts (Bellydance) Performer and Trainer for quite a while, so I can teach you how and why it's not nearly as hard as it looks :D

I'm very good with Fashion and other types of Design Expression, so if you're looking to update the look of yourself, your home, your office, or anything else, I'm happy to help you step into the New and Improved You.

I'm a good writer, so if there's something you're trying to say but you can't quite find the words, I may be able to help.

I've got some great music to introduce you to, as well as some intriguing books.

I'm a very supportive and encouraging person. I have perspectives to share that typically make any day better. And I'm usually full of some snarky humor.

If you're cooking, I don't mind doing the dishes to give you a break :D

Countries I’ve Visited
