Hi there! I'm a master student at the University of Chicago and a budding backpacker.

My undergrad major is Business Administration. But I learned soon there was no business for me to administrate - so I turned to computational sociology, trying to study something more meaningful things for me through computational methods. I care a lot about inequality, social disparities, labor and workers.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I've been curious about Couchsurfing for about 5-6 years but couldn't join earlier as I was living with my parents. Now that I have my own rented apartment, I'm excited to finally host fellow backpackers!

I'm looking to save on travel costs and also host others. I'm all about mutual learning, helping out, growing together, and exploring the world!

Big fan of Brit Pop here! I love Blur, Oasis, The Kinks, The Beatles, Queen... and also enjoy listening to Bach when working (Bach help me start my working - it's like my version of Pavlov effect). I don't listen too much Chinese new songs... but really love some old songs (maybe why I seldon go to karaoke with my friends lol).

I would never refuse good music when I never tried them before. Those days I found it is great to enjoy jazz music in jazz club in Chicago!

I'm a die-hard fan of the musical 'Hamilton' - I can watch it countless times without getting bored. I have a soft spot for Disney movies (yep, a bit childish but true!), and I'm also into Doctor Who, Good Omens, Star Wars, Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family and more. Let's explore more together!

My favorite book is 'Golden Slumber' by Kotaro Isaka, a unique Japanese mystery novel (there's a movie version too!). Those days I found I read too much fictions and too less non-fictions... maybe I should read more non-fiction.

I love exploring Chicago's diverse neighborhoods. As a multicultural hub, each area has its own unique vibe. Whenever I get bored at home, I forget my study tasks for a while and hop on public transport to discover new places.

I completed a half-marathon in 2021!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

Teach:
I can teach you how to cook Chinese dishes and other tasty treats – my dishes are always the first to go at potlucks! I can also teach you Chinese (though I'm not a professional teacher). I love chatting, so I can assure you that your Chinese will improve significantly.

Besides Chinese, as I'm majoring computational social science in UChicago, I could share my insights in some specific social science topics. Also I could teach basic Python if you needed lol.

I'm open to learning anything new (as long as it doesn't harm anyone, including myself!)
