Groups I Belong ToCouch Information Couch Available: Coffee or a drink Preferred Gender: AnyI'm living in a co-op in central square with 8 other awesome people and one really awesome dog named bear. We've got a guest room, and as long as we know a couple days ahead of time, we're more than happy to have guests. We're just a few blocks away from subway stop (central square on the red line) and also right next to some of the coolest indie music clubs in town. In the coop, people are into underwater wrestling and hockey, slacklining, playing life-sized board games and running around with bear. You're more than welcome, and will probably be asked, to join in. Boston's also a really fun city, and I'm happy to lend you some form of human-powered wheeled transportation to check it out. I'm self-employed, so I might have a ton of free time and able to hang with you a lot, I might be around the house but need to work, or I might be in Ghana or some shit. Bedding and all the rest is provided. We can probably even wrangle up a towl or two. Friends (70)

Personal DescriptionYou see, I'm just this guy.
www.artiswrong.comHow I Participate in CSI keep an open couch. When I travel, I'll sleep on your couch. hooray!CouchSurfing ExperienceI started out by unexpectedly hosting a loud guitar-playing green-bearded viking who wound up staying for a month, quickly followed by a couple people who were really quiet, and a cool swiss guy who helped me in my quest to ride crazy bikes through boston, a gaggle of french exchange students from canada, a striking playwright, a busker from texas, an awesome swedish woman traveling around the world and an army of Quebecois that silently appeared, showered and then disappeared two days later. As I traveled around the world, I stayed with wonderful people in Montreal, Joburg and San Diego. I eventually just turned my apartment in LA into a CS pseudo hostel and perpetually had surfers coming, crashing and going. It was fantastic! I recently drove back to Boston and surfed my way across the country, sleeping on desert mattresses under Mexican city lights and swimming in Austin rivers on the way. I couchsurfed all around India recently, and had an awesome time running around with the Ahmedabad CS group while I was living there. Every time something awesome happens to me through CS, I just tack it on here. I want this list to grow!
InterestsTo name a few, I like building things, social change, living freely and independently, riding 'altered' bicycles, singing show tunes with helium in my lungs, running marathons, mopeds and motorcycles, slacklining, dumpster diving, having faith in humanity, hiking, rock climbing, writing, urban climbing, urban spelunking, paragliding, kites, ultimate, indie music, wind-powered land vehicles, computers and robots, sailing, solar energy, electronics, and saving the world.
My main interest these days is how to become an Independent Human Being, which is a concept that excites me very much.PhilosophyI like to DO things. This is harder than it sounds.Music, Movies, Bookslots. murakami, edward abbey, woody allen, neil gaiman, jack kerouac, more jack kerouac, ginsberg, cassady, frickin Bukowski, leonard cohen
I'm really into indie music, starting to like underground hip hop, and I firmly believe that nothing bad came out of the 80s. The Stars, Unicorns, Handsome Boy Modeling School, Songs Ohia, Stephen Malkmus, Spoon, the Smiths, the Arcade Fire, Tom Waits, the Magnetic Fields, the 6ths, Lovage, Billy Joel, the national, Murs, DJ Z-trip, Paul Simon, Leonard fucking Cohen,...the list goes on. I also have an ongoing love affair with all rock that comes out of canada.Types of People I enjoyI like people with questions, people with answers. I like people who can't sleep, people always dashing from one thing to the next, full of life and love and energy. I like people who are looking for something in life, people who aren't content to live their lives behind TVs and monitors, people who find beauty in everything, who can never take life seriously.Teach, Learn, ShareI can teach you to ride a motorcycle through Indian streets and live!
I love it when people teach me things about music
And simple tricks that I can use every day are awesome. From Billy Gordon Queens, United States Aug 2 Positive Me and Alex first met on a decommissioned naval base in Alameda California through our friend Star.
The three of us explored an abandoned village on the base and found a squatters paradise (one of the houses we made it into still had running water).
We have met once on the East coast when Alex & Co. crashed at my place in Brooklyn for the night.
He is a great person who is fiercely intelligent and will make any couchsurfing experience memorable.
From Rahul Sanghvi Ahmadabad, India Jul 29 Positive What a positive & energetic person he is. Had a wonderful time meeting him couple of times in Ahmedabad. Always smiling.

You rocks man, keep it up...
:-}
From Leo Mavely Ahmadabad, India Jul 23 Positive Remember meeting Alex in Ahmedabad over an evening coffee. It followed up with couple of CS gatherings and then the ever memorable Mt. Abu bike trip happened. Got to know this guy a little more better. He exuberates energy, comes up with real crazy ideas out of the blue, has very pertinent thoughts about life and to say the least he's a real doer. Have met very few people like you Alex, you are truly unique. :)

From Mike McKenzie Baltimore, United States Jan 4 Positive Alex appeared with a jug of Carlo Rossi and a genuine passion for life. In exchange we observed gaudy holiday lights, cycled in the cold, and numbed our brains with simple movies. Good times were had, and would gladly host again.

From SOMEGIRL Los Angeles, United States Sep 18, 2008 Positive CouchSufing's crème de la crème!! Met at the Library Bar, shared some Chimay (best beer ever), dropped a Land Surfer on the 210, flew kites on a dry lake bed, trolleyed to the Griffith Observatory, shared unlawful waffle non-awful falafels, gelechtered at a Jewish comedy show, animated astronauts with no arms, picnicked at the Rose Bowl, Lindy Hopped with Masonics, techno-ed with rainbows, dined on fine dumpster pudding, played silly drawing games, and shared custody of lovely Couchsurfers at his place! lolol In return he drank my Slimfast, showered me in glass shards, broke into my house and stole my heart! He's a once in a lifetime kind of man. Meet him and FEEL ALIVE - You'll see! L.A. won't be as beautiful without you! :(
From Marissa Hecker Boston, United States Sep 17, 2008 Positive alex is...how shall we say...a fascinating individual. and of course by fascinating i mean awesome. he's up for anything, and makes everything fun. as far as i can tell, he's about 26 times smarter than me, which is why i enjoyed ripping his jokes to shreds whenever possible. gotta save the self-esteem somehow. he's full of entertaining stories and tidbits, and was a delightful host and boston city guide. riding in his car is like a journey of discovery all its own...absurd berenstain bears jokes, bob's big boy bobbleheads, you name it. robots have some amazing company in alex.

From KARASD London, United Kingdom Jan 20, 2008 Positive Alex!!!! You have to say his name like that, he is that much fun.
