About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Through metaphysics and socially-conscious art and music, I am trying to help make this world a better place. It's a crazy planet - power, greed, war, hatred, predjudice, intolerance, selfishness, a lack of compassion for fellow human beings. Time 4 A Change.

ABOUT ME

I am a writer, and socially-conscious artist (singer/songwriter and painter) creating words, art and music with hopes of helping to make this world a better place. I am an activist (social, political and environmental; working against all injustice and intolerance, promoting peace in all ways on this earth). I also surf (in the ocean), prefer bicycles to cars, rollerblade (I like hills), and love good food (mostly vegetarian). I believe it is important to keep my mind and body healthy, so I don't smoke, don't do drugs, and drink very little alcohol. I live/study metaphysics (very sensitive to energy) and love animals (very much a cat person though dogs like to follow me around). I also love to just think...

PHILOSOPHY

I believe all things are created equal. I believe there is a time and place for everything and everyone - that everything happens for a reason and that there is no such thing as 'coincidence.' I believe that each individual is on this Earth for a reason, that we all have a purpose, and hopefully we all progress and become better. I believe that we are all connected through the human experience but that each individual soul has it's own journey. If we are not where we are supposed to be yet - we can still get there. I believe in karma - everything comes back. I believe that one's intention is most important.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I originally joined CS when I was looking to relocate (to Austin, Texas) and I thought this would be a great way to meet new friends, get to know the city, and find a great new place to live. I got sidetracked, but I've traveled extensively throughout the world (mostly third world countries) and have never liked the hotel route - choosing instead to put on a backpack and just start walking - meeting the most amazing people who opened their homes and experiences to me from which I have the most excellent memories. So, this is perfect for me. I cannot offer a couch right now (though I might need one), but I can help with visiting in my hometown.

Please take the time to read my profile, and only message me if you think I am someone you would enjoy spending time with. Please do not send me cut-and-paste requests. I'm sorry but I find this disrespectful, and I will no longer respond to them. You are asking someone who does not know you to either open their home, and/or to spend time with you - and you should have the decency to spend a few moments getting to know a little about them first!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CouchSurfing experience was great! I got away from the CS community after it changed from what it was originally, but I have backpacked throughout the World (Fiji, New Guinea, Bali, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Kenya, South Africa, West Africa) and stayed in many wonderful villages with many wonderful people. It has always proven to be an enlightening and rewarding experience for me - the only way to visit another city or country if you really want to see the way the locals live and share in their everyday experiences.

Interests

Being an activist, my biggest interest is in trying to make this world better than it is currently, in any way I can. Politically, socially, environmentally, metaphysically - working to promote peace, acceptance and appreciation of all of our differences is my primary objective. I also need to have fun, so surfing the oceans of the world is a great way to do that.
