I've always been into traveling, and did most of it after taking a break from college. I went to many countries and even more states; I took passenger and freight trains, planes, walked, hitched, drove, paddled, all of it.. but it's tiring. These days I'm an outdoor educator in the woods of northern New Jersey, working with kids from all over the tristate area

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel, I don't want to take the normal sightseeing route. By using this website, I stay with locals in the places they are familiar with. Because of that I'm shown things that most people just passing through would never see. I love it

I can teach you about cameras, art history, camping, hitch hiking, people, freight hopping. I can tell you about basalt cliffs and waterfalls and ferns. I can teach you how to take a bottle cap off with just a lighter, or how to make a hummus you won't want to stop eating. I love to just sit and talk with anyone. I can recommend things- artists, books, movies, music, places to go, swimming holes in certain states, and good food I've had that you'd maybe like
