About Me

I currently live in Amman, on assignment for work. After my experience with my coworker, I decided to give Couch Surfing a try, to see what interesting people from Amman and around the world I can meet.

Ostensibly, I am a pretty normal person. I work normal hours, but have evenings and weekends off. I love to get outside as much as possible and explore new areas and activities. I enjoy hearing new music, and sharing what I listen to. The same can be said for food, coffee, and wine/beer.

I love to read books and news about the state of our world, and have genuine, constructive conversations about them. I love to hear about our natural world from people in that field of study.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently went on a business trip with a coworker, and he used to Couch Surfing while we were there to meet some really cool people local to the area.

It seems like a great platform to meet great people from around the world, and help each other explore new areas.

Music, Movies, and Books

Coming from an American point of view, I have musical artists I genuinely love in each genre. Sturgill Simpson from country; A Tribe Called Quest for rap; Beach House for synth/electronic/dream pop; LCD Soundsystem for whatever you might call them. Broken Social Scene for sterotypical indie. However, I am self admitted fanboy of Arcade Fire (we can discuss their latest album). I discovered and love Tinariwen as an international example.

I never realized until my friend pointed out that I love epic books, about men on life changing journeys. Which is true: East of Eden, The Long Ships, The Road. I am trying to branch out into books normally outside of my comfort zone. I would like to read the graphic novel Maus.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am taking care of my neighbors neglected puppy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

At this point in my life, I am not prepared to host (not ruling it out in the future). I also do not expect that, at this point.

However, I am willing to share my time and company.
