About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Vagabundo del mundo

ABOUT ME

I love hitchhiking, there isn't a better way of traveling. I've hitched in 36 countries(crossing 39 borders) and 4 continents, and looking to do more and more. Everything from a tiny 2 door Лада (with 6 people inside, backpack on my lap) to a stretch limousine with only me and a chauffeur. A bus full of high school kids where the kids gave me a granola bar, and an empty tour bus where the driver gave me a beer. Taxis, police cars, semi trucks, step vans, sports cars (still looking for that elusive hearse). A ride that lasted ~1000 ft/300 m and one that lasted 669 mi/1077 km. Caught a ride on a highway in a city of 14 million and on a desolate road in the middle of nowhere. Sandstorms, thunderstorms, extreme heat and nearly unbearable cold. I've been given rides by Protestants, Muslims, Jews, Orthodox Christians, Buddhists, Mormons, Hindus, Agnostics, Catholics, and Atheists. I've waited 9 hours for one ride, and I've gotten a ride before even setting down my bag. Every time I hitchhike is an unknown, a new experience, a turn of the wheel, and I love it.

I absolutely am obsessed with music, discovering more and expanding my horizons. I've collected quite a few vinyl LPs (like, in the quadruple digits). I like obscurity when it comes to music. I don't generally listen to or like anything in the mainstream (musically or otherwise). I enjoy living off of the grid and having a negligible carbon footprint. I love nature, America's National Parks, especially. Traveling, obviously, since I'm on CS, is something I enjoy. Being a place I've never been before and seeing it with my own eyes, rather than through pictures or reading about it, is stimulating to my mind. My favorite artists are probably MC Escher and Salvador Dali; and I really like minimalism. I enjoy reading, mainly non-fiction. I am a fiercely independent voter come election time. I've donated over a gallon of blood to the Red Cross. Gridiron football and ice hockey are my two favorite spectator sports, and I enjoy playing a multitude of sports, with volleyball probably topping the list. Astronomy is intriguing to me; nothing makes one feel as insignificant when peering into the empty abyss of the universe. Also, I love dogs.

PHILOSOPHY

Antiquated, yet revolutionary.

Worked for a summer as a camp counselor for children with disabilities.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know lots of stuff, and I'm willing to teach if you are willing to learn.

I'm always looking to learn some more foreign languages, even if it is only a couple of words. Anything, really; I'm an information sponge.
