ABOUT ME
My life has become a whirlwind of travel. Some of it on purpose and other adventures are simply a matter of being at the right place at the right time and refusing to say 'no' even if it means not knowing exactly where I'm going, where I'm staying, or who will be there (those always turn out to be the best somehow - I think it's the lack of agenda or expectation). I love people as well - before I practiced meeting new people, embracing new cultures, and *trying* to learn new languages, I was painfully shy - now I LOVE everyone! (it's true. I do. I love you already.) There's more 'about me' but I feel that's all that's relevant for right now.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Um, I have yet to participate. I'm new. But I plan to host people soon when I move to Brooklyn for grad school. I also hope to do some surfing in South and Central America when I get the chance.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've only ever met couchsurfers while they were surfing with friends. But I hope to gain tons of experience soon!
Interests
I love people. Meeting new people is one of the most exciting and interesting things life has to offer. Visiting new places and really experiencing new cultures is also an adventure. Specifically, I enjoy experiencing art and architecture as well as finding those small, hole-in-the-wall places that locals love in order to get a real feel for the place I'm visiting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Between May of 2010 and July of 2012 I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Bulgaria. I traveled all over the country (as well as a few others) and met amazing people. I taught at a small school in a tiny village about 2 hours outside of the capital and made some wonderful friends. The whole experience was a life-changing adventure and my life will forever be an extension of what I learned there. It may sound like a real cliche, but I now feel like I've transitioned from tourist to traveler, no matter where life takes me.
