Overview
About Me
I just retired from my profession as a registered nurse last year. I have 3 grown children who are living in Thousand Oaks, Oakland and San Francisco CA. In November I will be a grandmother for the first time. I have a facebook, and references through airbnb, trusted housesitters, work-away and mind my home. This would be my first couchsurf so no references here yet. I have just returned from a 4 month house sit in Costa Rica. I have travelled to Central America, Canada, France and Spain and through out the US. I love to travel and meet new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, in September I would like to couch surf so that I can attend my daughter's baby shower in Thousand Oaks on September 24th. In the future I would love to couch surf to meet new people and experience different cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite music right now is still Jorge Drexler. Favorite movie is "Talk to her" by Pedro Almodovar. I am reading Game of Thrones right now. I am on book 5 but it is just for escape and diversion. I enjoy both "self help" categories such as "Love is being Happy with" by Barry Kaufman and "The Story of Your Life: Becoming the Author of Your Experience" by Mandy Aftel as well as any historical fiction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Took my then 14 year old son for a trip to France and climbed the tower at Chateau de Foix.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have taught beginning Spanish to health care providers. Once thought to lead a trip to Mexico but never did...maybe no too late!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a pretty good cook and I can provide dinner..or breakfast. I am extremely organized and wouldn't mind putting in a couple of hours of help in that arena.
