About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy all I have, experience all that I can and find new ways to see the world every day.

ABOUT ME

I'm a glass half full type of person. Love meeting new people, getting to know them and seeing the little details in their lives. Wandering off the beaten track is something that really appeals to me. I'm always up for some fun or some mischief. I tend to be bubbly but sometimes shy. I'd like to think that I'm friendly, polite, open minded and passionate about the things that matter to me and the people that I love.

PHILOSOPHY

I love Oscar Wilde's quote "we are all in the gutter but some of us are looking up at the stars". Its not about seeing things as they are but as what they COULD be. I truly believe that with a lot of willpower and a little push from fate we make anything happen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Still relatively inexperienced. Stayed with some amazing people in New Zealand but have never hosted!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have very little couchsurfing experience YET!

Interests

I'm willing to give anything a go. Lots of things make me happy. Things like when theres a blackout and its night time and you get to light candles and watch forks of lightening in the sky, when something turns out to be far better than you expected it to be, coffee, cookies, having coffee or cookies with someone you care about, festivals, getting post that isn't businessy or junk, unexpectedly finding money, spontaneity, ladybirds, being the only people in the cinema, cooking for people, random acts of kindness, musical wonders, pressing the button, roadtrips, only realising something is on sale after you've decided to buy it anyway, getting lost and finding something more exciting than what you were looking for, odd coincidences, laughing with conviction at nothing much, my birthday, making wishes over silly things and believing that they'll come true, fancy dress, making people smile, bubbles, not knowing whats going to happen tomorrow, hope, finishing things, rainbows and stars and patterns and wallpaper, can't-put-it-down-page-turner-books, fireworks, treehouses, sunny days that involve booze, bbqs and good company, giving people presents that they don't expect, taking the time to look up at the sky and think wow, being at the airport and feeling all those little what ifs, chatty, friendly barpeople, when a great song starts playing unexpectedly, cocktails, trusting and believing!

Music, Movies, and Books

I always find these questions overwhelming as I tend to be indecisive and a tad flighty with my tastes so I'm just going to throw a couple out there.

I love movies like "Into the Wild", "Anchorman", "Amelie" and I have a soft spot for animation.

In books I like to read mostly anything (though I steer clear of horror and suspense thrillers) My book of the moment is "The God of Small Things" by Arundhati Roy and I've just finished "Life of Pi" which I really enjoyed.

In Music I could go on forever- Red Hot Chili Peppers, Prodigy, Crystal Castles, Mumford and Sons, Wild Beasts, Kings of Leon, Metric, Tegan and Sara... etc. etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Stiltwalking in the Dublin St. Patrick's day Parade along streets lined with more than half a million spectators was special.

Attending all kinds of festivals is a passion of mine so watching Stevie wonder play the pyramid stage at Glastonbury's 40th birthday celebrations was great as were all the other stages I've stood in front of, many other acts that have performed, fields that I've slept in and the wonderful diverse people I've met along the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

What could I teach? Well I'm a fluent Irish speaker so I could teach you a few words and phrases in Gaelic. I make quite a tasty chicken korma so that could be on the menu if you liked? I love drawing, painting and making so would love to help with any artistic projects!
