I am Akiko. Previously, I have been a professional photographer and a Japanese painter. I have also worked as a volunteer in a care home for people with disabilities in the UK. I joined international meet-up events there and found them interesting!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to talk with people from other countries to develop my knowledge of English, geography, and history. Also, it's good to know the different perspective about Japan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been organizing a Meetup event in Kyoto every Saturday for more than two years. I love this small community which is for Kyoto locals, tourists, international students, office workers, non-Japanese and Japanese. It's really great talking with people from all around the world.
