About Me

I have been volunteering in Europe since August 2017. I'm taking time to discover my own way in life through work, connection with people, traveling, and making my own choices. My family is Polish, but my parents have been in the US for almost 30 years now.

I love natural things, but especially things I can work with. I worked with clay at a ceramics studio in Limburg, Belgium, making super fancy plates for chefs all over the world. I've finished a farrier course in Brugge and am living in the city, working in a hotel.

I'm still learning, but I am glad if we can exchange stories and experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I find a place for myself, I need time to see new places and meet people. I am grateful to spend time with people who are living in the places I am going instead of spending lots of time (and money!!) in hostels or hotels. They can be very impersonal experiences. This depends on who you are, of course. Anyhow, I have a lot to learn from all of you!

Music, Movies, and Books

80% Classical music, folk, jazz, and cabaret, 20% Strange individual things that interest me. I play viola, but I don't listen to as much music as you might expect. A lot of it is on repeat.

Movies on all subjects, in all languages, as long as they have something worthwhile to say.

Any book that will give some insight into the world, the human condition, or a topic I want to know more about. I find it more important to embody the ideas from the books I read rather than to reference them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can shoe a horse!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am happy to help cook. I know a recipe or two.

If anything needs fixing or putting together (like an IKEA chair!), I will now insist on helping. Working with my hands is one of the things that brings me great joy.

If you have painting or construction work I can help with, let me know. I connect more easily with people when we work on something together. This depends on how long I stay, of course, but I want to show gratitude for the offer of a place to sleep.

What I Can Share with Hosts

General help with the household, or pets if you have any.
A favorite movie + commentary (there are so many, on so many different topics. I find this a fantastic way to learn and experience new ideas)
Cooking (varies with confidence)
My self and my experiences.
