About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring and completing the definition of "Humans"

ABOUT ME

I was born in Lyon then moved to the very cute city of Chambéry, near my dear mountains (the Alps), where I grew up.
I have been studying a wide range of subjects such as Film directing, English literature and Sociology both in France and the U.K to eventually specialise within the field of neuroscience and psychology at the University of Aberdeen (Scotland).

I have absolutely no idea where life will take me, but I can't wait to find out :)
I try really hard to do what makes me happy, even if it doesn't always make sense to those around me. I love the feeling of being home in a city that you have only just arrived in, and the excitement of the unknown.

I genuinely adore new cultures and firmly believe everyone has lessons to learn, and something to offer the world.

PHILOSOPHY

“I’m not sure what I’ll do, but— well, I want to go places and see people. I want my mind to grow. I want to live where things happen on a big scale.” - F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Ice Palace and Other Stories

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting people from all around the world, speak and learn languages, share things, thoughts, point of view, understand other cultures and try new things, challenges.
I want to contribute to a better understanding between people and to understand the world better.

Music, Movies, and Books

Jack Kerouac (especially The Dharma Bums) and some other writers of the Beat Generation like Allen Ginsberg (HOWL !), William burroughs, ...
A book containing all the letters the Neal Cassady has sent has been published recently, and I found some of those letters blow minding !
Charles Bukowski, W.H. Auden, Margaret Atwood, John Fante, Arthur Rimbaud, Baudelaire (I'm not really in found of other french poets whom I usually found way too pessimistic and always complaining about themselves - I know Baudelaire is one of them but he has a very particular way to see things that I do like - but this is all debatable)
Ryan McGinley and Brendon Burton are some of my favorite photographers.
My favorite movie is Kill Your Darlings (John Krokidas), but I also liked The Dead Poets Society, the Big Blue (Luc Besson) or the french filmmaker Arnaud Desplechin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I've been living one year abroad when I was 15 to 16 (Brazil)
- I've been to the Amazonas, where I fished piranhas, met indians, slept in hammocks for ten days on a boat and met people from about 25 different countries. (here's the video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qzgb58wEIS4)
- I participated to FerMUN (the Model United Nations) in Geneva during three days as the interpreter (from french to english) of the Security Council. (http://www.fermun.org/)
- I've been traveling one month around Europe with Ice, my dearest turkish traveling partner from Istanbul. We visited 13 countries in one month, went to Sziget, Budapest's incredible music fisteval known as the "island of freedom", went to the Tomatina in Bunol (known as the Tomatoe war) and so much more.
- I did many exhibition of my pictures as I love phtotography (you can find some of my pictures her : http://www.albanebuisson.tumblr.com/) and thanks to the money I made by seeling them I've been able to pay some of my trips.
- I did a video about bullying that had been shared by the french Ministry of National Education (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXZyYRxbfN4)

What I Can Share with Hosts

when I can't travel, nobody is more welcomed than someone who offers me an opportunity to hear from the outside!
I can show you the city, the best places to go and the best places to see, either for partying, having a good time, eating or doing cultural activities (I am usually very aware of the cultural events of the city : expositions, concerts, theater plays, etc.)
I can share stories, pieces of life, philosophy...
Sometimes my house for lunch or dinner, sometimes my roof to sleep (or my friend's), sometimes both !
But I can especially share good times.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Libya, Malta, Martinique, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Paraguay, Portugal, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States
