About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find the perfect backscratcher

ABOUT ME

Hmm, "all about me". I think I saw that on a t-shirt once, but it didn`t come in blue.

After cooking for 7 years I decided that this ultimately stressful, badly paying lifestyle wasn`t for me and I`m now studying carpenrty with the hopes to one day build my own `live off the fat of the land` homestead.

PHILOSOPHY

A hard worker makes a happy man. Love what you do and it'll love you back. Some homebrew helps a little, too!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Eventually, when I have my own place again, I'll offer solitude and peace of mind to anyone who comes knocking. But as a surfer I'd like to see how other cultures live and think.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent half of my college days on someones couch. It seems relevant to find which country has the most comfortable one.

Travelled for a week through Belgium and couchsurfed for the first time- very excellent! And a solitary night in Paris with someone who became a close friend.

Interests

I love traditional ways of living and farming: how creative people could be with inventing tools and cooking.I was born on a small farm and I want to learn all about farmlife so that I can build my own self-sufficient homestead. I love building things out of wood and making them absolutely as perfect as possible-I used to be a neurotic perfectionist when I was a cook, now I realise that perfection will come in good time with patience.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mark Twain tickles my satiric dark side and Perfume by Patrick Suskind is one of the best books ever written even though the movie was terrible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just about the most amazing thing that I`ve been witness to was watching 25 strangers become close friends over a two week stint of volunteering at a vineyard. A lot of us became close friends and still stay in touch over two years later.

And watching two goat rams duke it out on a hill at sunset in Bordeaux. Nature is awesome!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to cook. I can show any student how to eat for CHEAP and still have decent food- just make sure you always have garlic and onions.

My mission is to learn. To me there`s no point in doing something if you can`t learn anything from it.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Cuba, Dominican Republic, France, Ireland, Martinique, Mexico, Netherlands, Tunisia, United Kingdom, United States
