À propos de moi

Hey! :)
My name is Alenka and I am originally from a beautiful small town surrounded by the mountains in the heart of Slovakia - Banská Bystrica.

Ask me for my instagram to see more of my life! :)

You see, everybody has different passions, different aspirations in life.
Mine, for a long time, was travelling.
But older I get (haha, still 22, though), I realize I don't actually like travelling itself.

I love people.

Good people. Different people and their differences attract me. Their stories. Their passions. What makes them them. What makes them happy and what makes them sad.
I don't really remember how beautiful Paris was, but what I do remember is being on a date with a guy (who I met on Omegle a couple of months before, because I wanted to learn french), who took me all around Paris in his car, we crashed the car at Arc de Triomphe, I laughed a lot, we had so many conversations about the world itself even though we both came from different cultures. I remember wanting to hug him, but he wanted to give me two kisses on each of my cheeks, when we said goodbye. And this cultural difference still fascinates me. I remember how kind he was when he helped a woman who was lost in Paris and took her to her destination.
Or from the more recent ones, I didn't really care about the landmarks in Bangka and Belitung. But I remember the kindness, the smiles, my amazing new friends and my friend’s mother, as she forced me into taking a whole bunch of food for my way back. I remember how warm her smile was and even though we didn't share the same language with a lot of people there, I wont ever forget how kind they were. I wont forget getting picked up while hitchhiking by two older men, who were like my new two fathers and us using a lot of google translator that day(s), trying out durian for the first time and going to a karaoke with them. And so my aspiration is slowly changing.

I don't need to see the most beautiful places on earth. I really don't. Would be cool, but would I really do it because I want to see them or because I want to have a cool topic to talk about over a couple of beers? That motivation isn't so bad for some people, either, don't get me wrong, I don't judge you if that is why you travel. But for me a conversation-starter like that isn't enough.
I guess my travel-bug somehow disappeared, buuut, I still like to travel, slowly. :)

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I can listen to almost everything and I dont really have a favourite band.

I love movies, series, books... mainly sci-fi.
Huuuuuge Game of Thrones fan, The 100, Hunger Games, The Walking Dead... and many many many more! Ask me - we can talk about series and movies for HOURS! :D

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

At the age of 16 I became financially independent for couple of months!

And I donated blood at the age of 17 (who can also say that?!) - ask me how! :P

For my 18th birthday I organized an event of "dont give me gifts, donate blood" and I had a lot of my friends from different countries sending me photos of donating blood on my birthday!

Organized a loooot of events in my hometown.

I spent 7 months studying Indonesian language and culture in Indonesia.

I worked as a flight attendant!

Volunteered in something like "Hogwarts" with refugees in the middle of nowhere in Finland.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I can teach you how to cook (from heart), how to pronounce weird slovak words, do your makeup (even if you are a guy, I dont judge! :D)... and much more!

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

I can share my cooking skills (I think I've got your attention now! :D), my passions, my (bad) sense of humour, the stories from my travels... people also said I give good life advice and have a nice shoulder to cry on :)
