About Me

My main curiosity in life is simple: why do people think and believe what they think and believe.

I set out traveling to learn as much as I can about people and their minds, thoughts, feelings, and ways of being.

ABOUT ME:

I love experiences. Good or bad, every thing life tosses you teaches you. I want to see and do as much as possible. I especially love studying personalities. Anyone with a quirk or abnormality fascinates me. I can't think of a faction of personalities that I belong to. I'm sort of a diplomat, moving between the tribes of humanity. I am welcomed by all, but never fully accepted as one of them. I can hang out with punk rockers one night, jocks the next, hippies the third and so on with the rest. So I'm a little bit of everything but not all something.

Quotes I like:

"Maintain unbending principles while practicing flexibility of mind"

"You deserve nothing. Therefore everything you have is a gift and should be treated as such"

"They called me mad, and I called them mad, and damn them, they outvoted me"

"You want to know how to paint a perfect painting? It's easy, make yourself perfect and then just paint naturally"

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to everything from Kay Flay to Slipknot and from Maurice Ravel to Brother Ali. My favorite books are The Razor's Edge, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, The Bell Jar, Slaughterhouse Five, the Ender series by Orson Scott Card, and the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice. Through the eyes of the dragon, Faire Tale, The Charm School, The Book of Five Rings and many more. For movies, I have: The Lobster, The triplets of Belleville, Ink, It's Such a Beautiful Day, What dreams may come, Green street Hooligans, Eastern Promises, Momento, The Others, The Godfather, Shawshank Redemption, Midnight in Paris, There will be blood, and also many, many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've stood at the top of the Grand Canyon and looked down. I've stood at the bottom of Bryce Canyon and looked up. I've walked through the hills of the Badlands and once jumped up and down on a glass floor 145 meters in the air in Tokyo. I saw the only building still standing in Hiroshima after the bomb was dropped and walked through Kyoto in Awe. I climbed up a volcano in Panama as well as went swimming in a canyon and took a nap with a howler monkey taking a nap on me. I wandered aimlessly down the Rio Grande. I explored desert mountains with nothing but my camera. I lost myself in Red rocks canyon. I've jumped off a cliff, and learned to drive stick. I've lived for months a hair's breadth from being a hermit with nothing but a cat and a view of the cliffs on the largest Navajo reservation in America. I've sat on the shores of a beach on a heavily foggy night with a full moon. I've stayed at a monastery on a mountaintop and learned so much in a week it took me months to process it all. I've been happy, sad, scared, and all to every extreme that I can imagine.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know how good a teacher I'd be, but I know more than a decent amount about pool, photography, writing, filmmaking, cooking, card tricks, and am always more than happy to swap stories about any topic, idea, or concept.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Any of the skills and knowledge that I've come across, I'd be more than happy to share with you. What these are, who knows... But I find them interesting enough.
