About Me

My name is Ali. I have lived in very different parts of the US, including New York, New Mexico and Florida. I have spent a lot of time in Washington State and California, and love to travel. I have been to Israel a few times and and excited to see the rest of the world. I love art and am passionate about teaching, camping, music, and cooking. I have a twin brother and some of the greatest friends in the world, and we all love to explore and learn.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will be graduating from college in May and will be traveling to Israel, India and Vietnam this summer - a trip I have been spending a lot of time thinking about and planning. I will be in India alone and Vietnam with two friends and my girlfriend.

Music, Movies, and Books

Devandra Banhart, Tame Impala, Grateful Dead, Paul Simon, Beach Boys, Beach House, The Doors, Adult Jazz

I am a huge film nerd. Woody Allen movies, Wes Anderson, Stanely Kubrick, anything really but horror movies I love.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once took a man I didn't know on a tour of Barcelona, on our layover to Israel. I haver never been to Spain before but we had an amazing six hours of touring the city quickly before I took him to the church he studied his entire life and it brought him to tears. He bought me coffee and we headed back to the airport to go to Israel where I visited my brother, a couple summers ago. Besides that I have spent every summer since 2010 teaching kids and gaining fulfillment from that.
