About Me

**My profile below is from 2018 and needs updating. I'm now a Software Engineer living in Bath**

CURRENT MISSION

Current mission as far as CS is concerned is to meet cool, interesting people whilst gaining a greater knowledge and understanding of the world

ABOUT ME

Hi my name is Andy and I am from England. I enjoy socialising and meeting interesting people from around the world. I speak pretty good Spanish as I lived in Barcelona for a few years.

2018 has been an interesting year so far and I managed to spend about 4 months on the road visiting Prague, Ibiza, Bucharest, Berlin, Dublin, Budapest and Milan. My final trip of the year will be to Lanzarote and I hope to meet some cool people.

I love spontaneity as you cant beat stumbling across or into something random.

PHILOSOPHY

Make the most out of what you have. Inspire others. Be memorable. Don't waste time sweating the small stuff. Enjoy it while you can. If it feels good do it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm glad someone introduced me to the whole CS concept as I now feel I could travel to any city in the world and easily find myself amongst easy going and friendly people. I have organised and attended many social events and met lots of interesting characters.

Interests

Music:

Hip Hop, Drum & Bass, Electronica, Reggae, IDM, some Dubstep, Nu Jazz, Broken Beat etc..

Food:

Very open minded and always looking to try something new. I like Italian, Indian, Greek, Spanish. A variety really. I definitely don't eat out at decent restaurants often enough. I enjoy cooking. Not a fan of most fast food.

Sports:

I'm gonna be honest here. I'm not really into a great many sports. Things like Football are pretty boring for me. Sorry. I guess you could persuade me to shoot some hoops. I would love to get back into tennis but haven't played since I was a kid. I've considered boxing for fitness but not sure I would enjoy being punched in the head. I enjoy going to the gym though. Oh and cycling although it's something I haven't done recently, I used to enjoy cycling around Barcelona when I lived there.

Other stuff:

Architecture, drawing, painting, exploring cities, language exchange/intercambio, chilling, sleeping, listening to music, internets, etc.. lots of stuff really. I normally have passing 3 month fixations/passions for something.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read A LOT of books when I have time.

Some of my favourites:

The Contortionists Handbook - Craig Clevenger
The Backpacker - Christopher John Harris
Mr Nice - Howard Marks
The Seven Days of Peter Crumb - Jonny Glynn

Music:

Too much to mention. Find me on Soundcloud mobile or Spotify listening to whatever is new when I'm on the move.

Movies:

Natural Born Killers, The Butterfly Effect, The Goonies, Point Break, Kidulthood, Ill Manors, Shaun of The Dead, City of God, Mary Poppins.

TV Shows:

Peep Show, Breaking Bad, Oz, Game of Thrones, Spaced & Westworld.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Prodigy in Barcelona. Best concert of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share
