About Me

Hi! I'm Andrei. I grew up in the US, but I now live in Romania. I really enjoy taking pictures, and I make money here and there doing portraits, but my 9-to-5 job is at a tech company (ew, I know) working as an SEO specialist.

In general, I'd describe myself as a pretty chill guy. Do I have a somewhat childish sense of humor? Maybe. Occasionally my jokes fall flat, but by all accounts I'm far from the least pleasant person to spend time with. I'm pretty good at going with the flow, and zealously avoid setting expectations for just about anything. If stuff goes well, great; if not, there's always tomorrow. If I'm hosting, we can hang out or not hang out, I'm down for whatever, no pressure.

As far as hobbies go, I'm really into music, analog photography and cinema. I'm in a psychedelic stoner band called Zen Motherfucker, where I routinely assail the eardrums of our fans with my off-key hollering and guitar noodling. I love jamming with new friends, so don't be afraid to whip out an instrument if you've got one!

My girlfriend lives in Cluj, so I'm out of town a lot of the time. If I reject your request, it's probably because I'm there. We also have two mischievous kitties named Butter and Bubble, who are as adorable as they are headache-inducing.

Well. That's me. I don't know what else to say about myself, but I look forward to meeting you, whoever you are :)

Music, Movies, and Books

As far as film is concerned, I generally like anything with an engaging story and/or good cinematography. I have some guilty pleasure films, but I try to watch stuff that is at least a little mentally stimulating.

When it comes to music, I grew up listening to country and folk, but I have pretty eclectic (read: bad) tastes at this point in my life. Right now I'm listening to a lot of Deftones, Death Grips, La Femme and this Ukrainian folk band called DakaBrahka. Oh, and Tek. I really like Tek.

I don't read all that much anymore (thanks, short-form media), but I like older novels with elaborate character drama. The last book I read was Dune: Messiah, really digging the psychedelic themes and uncannily accurate predictions for the future.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Grand Canyon, it is impressively grand

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some piano, a few chords on guitar, maybe a melody or two on accordion. I can show you how to build a computer (it's actually easier than you might think) or how to make my mom's skillet apple pie.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help with any housework you can throw at me. I'm also a good cook (my balsamic vinaigrette chicken is to die for). If you let me, I can play my guitar and sing for you. I'm no Willie Nelson, but I'm not bad either :)
