About Me

I'm Andrei, 22 years old, originally half Romanian half Moldovan. I was born in Romania and I have lived in Italy since I was 6. Long story short: I don't like nationalities and borders, and I do not struggle to cage me in one.

I'm currently finishing my Bachelor in International development and cooperation in Bologna (city that I love), and I am about to start a Master in statistics and economics.

I love traveling, getting to know different people with different passions. Besides Italy and Romania I spent a semester studying in Finland and traveled/volunteered in several other countries.
I love cycling, hiking in the mountains, listening to music and hanging out with people. I'm a volunteer in my hometown (teaching Italian) and try to be active in social/community projects and leftist movements.
I also like agriculture, getting to know sustainable farming practices and I am a strong supporter of the agroecological movement (La Via Campesina).

I've used Workaway and couchsurfing for years now and I got to know amazing people and a lot about myself as well.

I love the world, being it a big city with street artists and crowded squares, a fresh and calm village in the mountains, an eco-farm or a tent in the desert.
I'm a friendly and sociable person.
I mostly don't eat meat for socio-ecological reasons and try to eat locally produced food as much as possible.

I'm really into arabic culture, language and food. I do not have much success with studying the language though.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I use couchsurfing because it's a way to get to know the world with locals' eyes. It's a way to live as a native even for few days. Moreover I think it's important to help people discover small and not so touristy places like Reggio Emilia, that could offer a more authentic experience than most popular cities in Italy.
