About Me

** just a heads up, I'll be hosting a refugee in the near future so my hosting schedule might change **

My first holiday abroad was for my 23rd Birthday, a one-way ticket to Spain and a new life. I've tried my best to catch up on missed adventures since then, having visited over a dozen countries. Love to explore and meet people, often I'll see a photo of something great and then find it in the flesh.

I've organised on road trips with my friend as well as alone having also visited Ireland, Morocco, Portugal, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Spain and France, in that order... Closer to home I've been wild camping with people from CS as well as a hike along the Jurassic Coast alone. Quite enjoy the outside, be it beaches or green countryside.

As part of a hiking group, I've helped organise multiple trips around the UK to explore our lovely countryside. I've also taken up paddleboarding, loving the summer sun!

I'm more likely to stay in hostels to meet new people, but we do host Couchsurfers who've got lost and ended here somehow....

I now own my own home right by the canal in Coventry! I used to live with my parents making conventional hosting tricky, however it didn't stop us! Other possible are car and tent sharing which is no issue! I've two, three-man tents, and a four-man, as well as some extra hiking and camping gear. My house I'm currently renovating, but I love it. I have two sofa beds, so there's always at least one free.

I've not really travelled since 2019, car accident, relationships, COVID, illness, a lot got in the way... This gives even more reason to host people! Reverse travelling! I do make time for friends.

The travel break has been broken, but so has my knee... For my 30th I went to Egypt and met many great people, my knee found a nice rock however after ejecting myself from a motorbike. Recovery is taking a while.

I love to learn about new things and different ways of life. I've met up with people from all over the world now and will continue to make friends.

I'm still in the process of updating my profile.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why not? It's been fun so far!

I like to meet new people, the hang out features and events is where I spend most my time. Always up to make new friends. I have so far enjoyed the friends I've made through here. Seem to be more open-minded and caring.

If we can teach each other new things I'll be ecstatic. Experiencing a new culture or way of life is great through here as well.

Interests

I enjoy anything new, recently I've re discovered the outdoors and love it! I enjoy water based activities if it's warm.

Music, Movies, and Books

All sorts, mainly pop or rock. If I know the words I'll be singing along!

I don't actively follow any bands or singers, but do enjoy live music at events, even if I don't know the songs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

White water rafting in a dam in Slovakia.

Wild camping on Snowdon with people from here.

Got a ride in a police car in Naples at high speed...

Teach, Learn, Share

Want to learn the basics of flying an airliner?

I've taken couch surfers to some interesting local establishments. Carribean cafe in a basement, up the local hills with the dogs, cycling around the lake and to my place of work (Flight Simulators).

I've a few paddleboards and lead kayak tours in Birmingham, that's always fun.

I'm a native English speaker, so can help with a few words or spelling (I'm not perfect myself!).

I love to learn new things and discover new experiences. Anything is interesting to me if you are passionate about it. I've learned about different volunteering programs, Greek ID cards, polish food, and maybe my favourite... Horses!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Honestly most the time I'm just happy for the company and making new friends.
If we find a common interest (or something new) conversation can go on and on.

I'm up for most activities and enjoy making a mess in the kitchen.
