ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Andy. I was born in Australia but have spent much of my life living abroad. I currently live in Finland. I love adventure, learning new things and meeting great people.

I have a deep desire to leave the word a better place than I found it. I believe in living a simple and active life. I love to joke around and have fun. In Finland most regard me as an extreme extrovert but on international standards I think I'm quite border line.

I have two wonderful children who are my best friends. They make me laugh and are so pure. I look forward to using Couch surfing as a means to meet great people and have wonderful experiences.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am eager to both host people as well as couch surf. I try to attend couch surfing activities and local meet ups.

Found out about it from a lady I sat next to on a flight. Really glad I have gotten into it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a bit of an addict to buying books. I should really get some counseling. Mostly read Non fiction. Usually the best stories are true.

As to music anything goes. 70's music is great.Just love Queen, Led Zeppelin and ABBA (okay, maybe not ABBA). Also really like pop. My favorite female singers are Molly Sanden and Sonja Alden. (must be subconsciously trying to learn Swedish)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Really enjoyed working in an orphanage in Khon Kaen Thailand. It was amazing to see how children with challenging backgrounds could come so alive in loving and caring environment.

Teach, Learn, Share

Human acomplishment facinates me. Everyone has an amazing story if you just have the patience to listen. I Believe in the Couch surfing philosophy, everyone is your teacher.

I am planning to undertake an MBA in the next few years so am trying to build up my knowledge in this area. I am also really excited to be working on my Chinese again. I want to improve my Finnish as well. (Note to myself: in order to learn Finnish you need to study it)

As to what I can share, I know a lot about integrating into Finland and building a career and am happy to share my learning.
