About Me

I’m taking a break from university studies to travel through Mexico and Central America with my girlfriend, Kate. I have travelled through Europe and had many great experiences using Workaway to get to know locals. I’m enthusiastic and sociable and love meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to learn Spanish! Short-term, I‘m travelling around Central America and Mexico, trying to pick up as much of the language as I can. I'm more than comfortable with meeting new people and I don't require too many luxuries to be happy, so I think couch surfing is a perfect fit. I'm fascinated with how other people from different cultures live, especially within their own homes. Long/medium-term, I hope to host people back home in Australia and become part of the global couch surfing community.

Interests

Sailing and reading are my main interests. I really enjoy writing and I try surfing every now and then. I also play Australian Football, and I'm a huge Geelong Cats fan.

Music, Movies, and Books

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a qualified sailing instructor so I can teach you anything from the basics of sailing right up to the finer rules of dinghy racing. I can also attempt to teach you the rules of Australian Football, how to kick the 'footy.' I can help with English practice, and in turn I love to participate in the local language and culture as much as possible!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I grew up on a farm so I'm more than happy doing just about anything around the house: if there are animals, I can feed them; if there's food, I can cook it, and if you have children, I'm happy to babysit (I have three younger brothers and sisters). If all else fails, I can tell a good story!
