About Me

ABOUT US

We are a couple who met 12 years ago in Macedonia while travelling around in Europe. We both love to travel, experience new cultures and meet people. We are serious and responsible when we have to be, but we also like to party hard when the time is right :)
Our dream plan is to travel around the world, eventually find somewhere we love and open a hostel and a language school :)

We used to run a website (called HitchhikersHandbook) dedicated to hitch-hiking, backpacking and budget travelling, where we shared our road stories, photos, travel advice and information.

PHILOSOPHY

If your dreams don't scare you, they are not big enough!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We love CouchSurfing for the same reason why we love hitch-hiking. And the reason is not the fact that it's free, but the fact that it's a perfect way of meeting locals while travelling and avoiding hostel & train hopping.
CouchSurfing allows you to feel at home in a foreign country and be treated like a close friend or a relative by strangers. Just like hitch-hiking it allows you to experience unconditional human kindness!

We've been using CS for 10 years now, both as hosts and surfers. Some people say that before sending a couch request you should thoroughly read your potential host's profile in order to make sure you'd get on well. That might be true although we also like sending CS requests to random people. Firstly because you cannot be sure what kind of person you are going to meet even if you study their profile well. And secondly because we love meeting different types of people and not limiting ourselves to the same crowd.
By using CS we've stayed with students, professionals, families and in squat houses, and we enjoyed all these so varied experiences. Only thanks to CS we were able to meet all these people we would never have met otherwise.
We're big fans of the CouchSurfing project :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

we've surfed some couches and hosted some cool people :)

We have...
been inspired by hitchhiking guru, Ang in Malaysia...
had a BBQ and searched Ankara for the elusive smoke with the King of Turkey, Can...
been to see the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona and invited to eat the juiciest steak ever with Eneko in Spain...
met Jacob who was looking for human immortality, faster than light speed travel and sustainable human communities in space...
chilled with the personification of calmness and hospitality, Pep in Portugal...
been given a guided tour of Baku by the most western minded Azeri, Jamil...
got drunk in a house party that developed unexpectedly in Yerevan, Armenia with Artur...
surfed a squat in Madrid with Fran...
made a friend for life in Juan who helped us in our first year in Barcelona, and continues to help us to the present day...
encountered a German on the edge in Michael...
talked God and science with a crazy smart Iranian, Milad in Trieste, Italy...

Teach, Learn, Share

During our trips we like to learn how to cook new dishes and we can also share with you our culinary knowledge.

We are also interested in learning about local history and language, so don't hesitate to share your knowledge with us and be prepared for a lot of questions :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whenever we travel, we aim to learn dishes, games and explore new music from every country we visit. If you host us, we are willing to teach you what we have learnt and share our travel experience with you. Moreover, we will cook you a tasty meal :) Sounds, like a deal? ;)
