About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Don't be too serious and experience life to the full.

ABOUT ME

I am a very outgoing person, who enjoys giving everything a shot at least once. Always up for a laugh and don't take myself too seriously, especially after I've had a drink or 2.

Architecture, natural beauty spots, nightlife and live music is what drives me travel, as every place is unique.

PHILOSOPHY

"I have one theory in life. I never want to say the words I should have. If I do it and I failed, I tried, if I do it and I succeed, better for me. Never go through life saying you should have, if you want to do something, you do it."

"If you love a flower, don’t pick it up. Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love. So if you love a flower, let it be. Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation. Appreciate what you love and love will not"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I first joined couchsurfing, I was unable to host and only meet people at random events. Fortunately my situation changed for a few months and I hosted around 10 different people from all over.

I couch surfed across Europe for a month in October - November 2012 which was the best experience of my life. I met so many interesting new people who impacted my life so much.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met so many great people through couchsurfing. I have never had a bad experiance, and everyone I have met has been simply amazing. There have been times where I have been waited on hand and foot, and times where I have repayed the good deed.

My weirdest surfing experience has got to be in Antwerp. My host took me to her student fratenity's annual party, which was simply amazing. The night started off pretty normal, with alot of drinking and dancing. Then the song 'Lemon Tree' by Fool's Garden came on. Everyone downed their beer and then proceded to smash their glasses on the floor. This went on for 9 hours...

My favourite hosting experience is one of my first guests. I hosted a guy from England, and I was planning on hosting him for one night as I had plans to do events with my family. We went out for a quick drink at about 5pm and ended up getting the first bus home at 5am after an insane amount of drinking. I made plans to host him for a few more days and we went out and did the same again on both the Friday and Saturday night. We got lured to a gay bar when we were searching for somewhere which was still open, and tried hitch hiking at 3am.

Interests

I love listening to Music, as described below. I am avid TV show watcher, with the likes of The Mentalist, The Walking Dead and Homeland being among my favourites. Nature documentaries will also get me sat in front of the TV for hours on end.

I enjoy going out clubbing and nights out, and it's exciting to see if some of the countries I am due to visit will live up to expectations.

My biggest interest, which I haven't done enough of is travelling. I love learning about different cultures, and really want to see what life is like around the world. This is the main reason I joined CouchSurfing, to fulfil my dreams, and hopefully enable someone to fulfill theirs.

Music, Movies, and Books

Alt-J, Ben Howard, Bon Iver, Coldplay, Daughter, Florence and the Machine, Edward Sharpe & The Magenetic Zeros, Foster the People, George Ezra, Hozier, Imagine Dragons, Jack Johnson, James Blunt,The Kooks, The Killers, Kings of Leon The Lumineers, Milky Chance, Mumford & Sons, Oasis, Of Monsters & men, Tracey Chapman, Vance Joy

Live music is always a winner, no matter what genre. As long as there is a good atmosphere I'll be up for it.

Films wise, I can watch pretty much anything. Comedies are always the go to when I'm bored. Everyone forces me to watch horror films, but I still can't find it in myself to enjoy them. I can spend hours watching travel documentaries, when i should be going out and doing exactly what the people we am watching are doing.

I don't read books often after being put off them in secondary school. If there is an autobiography about someone I find interesting, I may read it. I find myself reading blogs rather than books recently. This is mainly due to having the feeling that you are being informed as it happens, rather than something that happened months/years ago.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach :

I can sing like an angel. I can teach you how too. You must provide your own earplugs if you value your hearing.

Learn :

I want to learn how to salsa. I mean, I already am a pro at it. But a little bit more learning doesn't go a miss. Bring steel toe capped boots if you want to walk the next day.

Share :

My ego. I've got a lot to go around.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Beer. And lots of it.
