About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"...to live deliberately. I want to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life. To put to rout all that was not life; and not, when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived."

ABOUT ME

Open-minded Spaniard. A traveller and former expat that recently moved back home thanks to the magic of remote working.

When I travel, I really like to see the local side of the cities and countries. Where the locals hangout, where they go to eat, and what they do on their normal weekends. I also enjoy tasting new food, meeting new people and discovering the small (or big) differences between cultures, as well as the commonalities. I am really amused by how different and yet so similar we all are.

Another great passion of mine is adventure. Whether it is road tripping without a set destination, wandering around a new and unknown city or trying new fun and adrenaline heavy things (abseiling, coasteering, rafting, or any adventure sport). I am trying to learn surfing and I do rock climbing regularly (boulder indoor or sport climbing outdoors).

I love engaging into interesting conversations, from Politics, history, psychology or economics, to more spiritual and philosophical topics. Big plus if the conversation is with a nice wine or a cold beer :)

If you got to read this far... Wow, I'm impressed! That means you are curious like me :D. I am curious by definition, ask a lot of questions and always look for new things to learn about. Currently I'm playing around with photography and video making, although editing videos is proving to be quite a difficult thing to learn on my own...

PHILOSOPHY

"In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take."

And all the fun is waiting for you outside your comfort zone. Go get it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think the people that uses this platform are open minded and curious about meeting other people, and that is the kind of people I love to meet in my travels. I also think it's the best way to meet local people and learn their culture

Music, Movies, and Books

I am more of a rocker, although I like a wide variety of music. Just not reggaeton, and also not very fond of electronic music (although having lived for 2 years in Berlin I have learnt to enjoy some of it). In terms of movies, I like them all, from marvel blockbusters to rare independent films from all over the world. My favourite director is Tarantino.
All kind of books, but I mostly read history novels, business books and psychology books. My kindle is the best companion for those long travel journeys :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Take the first step to go abroad for the first time (after my Erasmus), with only a few Euro, a small luggage and a few printed CVs. I wouldn't be where I am if I wouldn't have had the courage to go through (or be crazy enough to go through)
I am also quite happy for making the decision to quit my job, pack my things and hit the road

Teach, Learn, Share

If there is a climbing gym nearby, I can tech you some rock climbing. I also know quite a bit of marketing, history (mainly European though), and I can share my travel experiences

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my travel stories - I've been told I'm an OK storyteller :) - have a good conversation and, if I can find the ingredients, I can do a quite tasty carbonara (my Italian friends says it's quite good and I quite proud of it :D)
