About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Take the long way home.

ABOUT ME

I enjoy living and travelling alone, but love meeting people in the process, people from all walks of life, even those I disagree with. I love city life precisely because of the opportunity for both privacy and human adventure.

PHILOSOPHY

I have learned to rely on both serendipity and the kindness of strangers.
Also, occasionally, I'm funk and I'm proud.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed last summer and now I try to host as much as possible given my schedule.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Still limited, but excellent. I have both surfed and hosted with great pleasure.

Interests

Urban exploration, the creative claiming of public space, music, movies, books, food (preferably spicy) and drink.

Music, Movies, and Books

At this exact moment I am listening to 1960s John Coltrane, but I also love Steve Reich, Tom Waits, Miles Davis, Taraf de Haïdouk, Louis Sclavis, Leonard Cohen, Sly Stone, etc.
I am a sucker for contemporary literature (Don Delillo, Colum McCann, Pynchon), and I read quite a lot of essays on politics, economics (not that I understand those fully), urbanism, environment. And let's not forget comic books. I guess for you fellow travellers, I should mostly mention Guy Delisle.
As for movies... Tarkovsky, Coen Brothers, Peter Greenaway, Godard, Scorcese, and so many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know about amazing, but I find that, for instance, spending three days on a train and talk to ten different people (never met before or since) for hours can turn out to be quite astonishing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love it if someone could teach me how to cut my own hair properly. I've been doing it for years, and it's still a disaster!
And I can teach you how to make my current culinary obsession : a shrimp curry risotto.
