Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to think that, overall, people are welcoming and hospitable and that couchsurfing enables a network of these people all over the world. When I had to move abroad alone as part of my degree, couchsurfing was there for me to meet people. And whenever I travel, I think it's so much better to know wherever you're going, and for me that usually means trying to learn a bit of the language if I don't already, and trying to understand a culture as best I can in the limited time available to me. Couchsurfing is the best way to do that.
