About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To help people accept change. After all, it's the only thing that's permanent!

ABOUT ME

What about me? I've been away from home the past two years. I've lived in New Zealand and Australia and had a great time experiencing life as a 'working holiday backpacker'. There are so many brilliant minds living on the fringe! I'm currently working on a new blog about how to design your ideal lifestyle by letting go of fear and blessing your constant state of change.

PHILOSOPHY

A fear of scarcity dominates our shared reality. The suffering that occurs on earth can be healed if we let go of our fears. There is an abundance of everything on this planet. Our potential is infinite. Life thrives here if you trust in it and let it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been using Couchsurfing as a way to meet great people in places that are unfamiliar to me. It's always better to experience the heartbeat of a new location through local people than to get lost in a sea of beer and drunk travelers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The first time I Couchsurfed was in San Francisco one time, my host Dex talked up Burning Man so much that I found myself there the very next year. The series of events was life changing. I wasn't on Couchsurfing at the time, I was hanging out with groovy friends that were, but that was the experience that started a radical shift in my thinking.

Couchsurfing was also the catalyst that propelled me into the amazing community of Fremantle, Western Australia. I ended up spending 7 months in Fremantle and became a part of one of the most diverse and accepting communities on the planet. The beauty of opening up your doors (and couch) to a stranger can open up unthinkable realms of existence. I'm forever grateful.

Interests

I'm somewhat of a performer. I'm a fire dancer, juggler and a great dancer. I've spent most of my life down by the river windsurfing, kite boarding and sailing. I ride my bike more than I drive, I go camping any chance I get and I love going to see live music. I've been to Black Rock City to celebrating life and humanity at Burning Man. In Portland, OR, USA, I used to tend a vegetable garden year round, raise chickens and drink the myriad of exceptional beers that the city has to offer. On the weekends I'm usually exploring one of the many mighty fine national forests across the gorgeous state of Oregon. I'm a rock collector, bird enthusiast and a steward of good vibes.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy any Tom Robbins books and epic sagas. I'm currently on a traditional wisdom and happiness trip. Once I open a National Geographic I have to read the whole magazine before putting it down. I listening to any chilled out electronica, reggae, dub step or a blend of them all. I've been around the globe and have picked up a lot of eclectic music. My hard drives are a repository of great music and movies you're welcome to sift though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The past five months I've been traveling through New Zealand. It's been a wild ride! I've been rockclimbing everywhere, kiteboarding, wwoofing, camping in the middle of nowhere, multiday hikes and have met so many great kiwi friends.

I climbed the tallest peak in Oregon, Mt. Hood. With some of the best weather of the summer, you could see up and down the Cascades, from Mt. Rainer to the North, all the way down to Mt. Shasta in the South.

I sailed a boat a quarter of the way around Australia and I also spend over two months traveling through the Australian outback hosting concerts in remote Aboriginal communities. Australia is one epic adventure!

In 2008 I traveled to Ecuador to visit the fabled Galapagos Islands. On the islands, I snorkeled for the first time ever. I swam with Dolphins, penguins, sea lions, jellyfish (ouch!) and a spectacular diversity of fish and invertebrates amongst some of the most amazing coral reefs in the world.

I've road tripped across the continental USA twice. I've seen the Grand Canyon, Zion and almost all of the major cities across the country, including our nation's capitol.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been a fire performer for five years. I'm always keen to teach people how to fire dance and juggle. I lost a bit interest in it this past year, but if you ask me I'll teach you some tricks and will help you make a fire staff! I can also teach you how to juggle.

I've got a bit of gardening wisdom and practice permaculture. I'm love to hand out with people that can teach me more. I'm living in Thailand so I'd like to learn more of the Thai language.

I am learning Ukulele and would love play some music with people!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've got my Ukulele and a stockpile of movies and music you can look through. Epic conversations, hugs and smiles.
