About Me

ABOUT ME

I travel as a hobby and found a way to make it a job. So, I work with youth programs in Europe and South American and when the kids go home I travel more. French, Spanish, biking, other sports and cuisine are the main things I'm interested in in new countries. Also wandering around grocery stores. And eating street food. And drinking local liquors. And hiking. And general adventuring.

PHILOSOPHY

To have fewer possessions and have all of them be of better quality.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can host in an up and coming residential part of the East Bay in the SF bay area. The neighborhood is principally Latino and Southeast Asian and is located near a BART stop. A nice 45 minute bike ride along the Bay Trail reaches Oakland. I cook well and simply, and since I show people around professionally as a study abroad program leader I LOVE to introduce people new countries (especially my own) and am excellent at explaining the peculiarities of American culture :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a few awesome experiences surfing. New to hosting.

Interests

I love riding trains or buses in new countries and not speaking. It's really nice to see a new place for the fist time and not feel the need to discuss it as its being seen. I Love wine. I Like to play basketball. Damn this profile is long... I Like to read, currently reading Scars by an argentine author... Juan Jose Saer (in English. 1960's novel just translated).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Eating unlimited mangoes off a tree in a field in Peru after crossing the border into the country for the first time on a drive I took from California to Argentina.
- Spending Christmas with a Provencal family and not noticing the time disappear as the the 8 courses, 5 or 6 wines and 13 course dessert and endless conversation flowed across the table.
