About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life to the fullest, build community, and "be a hummingbird" (See this video; seriously, watch it! https://youtu.be/IGMW6YWjMxw )

ABOUT ME

I'm a university graduate with a global mind and a passion for environmental and social justice. I thoroughly enjoy experiencing other languages and culture (I studied both at university), and I want to experience the world!

PHILOSOPHY

We are put onto this earth not to destroy our surroundings, but to enhance them. I seek to enhance my own life and the lives of those around me wherever I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couchsurfed , and I've hosted too...
I have met some really awesome people through CouchSurfing, making friends along the way throughout the world. It's such a great project and I think quite highly of it. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted a few people and surfed a few times. Every experience has been positive so far, and some of them have been life-changingly awesome! =)
I have some really great friends now, all thanks to CouchSurfing!

Music, Movies, and Books

- Virtually all music (I really love Italian music)
- Most movies (excluding horror)
- My favourite movies include Cloud Burst, The Sapphires, V for Vendetta, The Hundred Year-Old Man Who Climbed out of the Window and Disappeared, Crash, The Pursuit of Happyness, Slumdog Millionaire, Shutter Island and Star Wars.
Most recent movie - The Fundamentals of Caring
- As for books, I will give anything a try, but my favourites include Harry Potter, anything by Chinua Achebe, and I really enjoy Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, too...
- Most recent book - The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teaching. I've gotten some volunteer experience in a classroom and some summer camp education experience. The most amazing thing is when you provide a student with knowledge that they both desire and appreciate. Better yet, seeing them apply the techniques for critical thinking with which you've helped them become more adept. Seeing a student, a young mind, benefit from your teaching really is the most rewarding experience ever.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to be able to help others practice their English, and I would like others to help me practice my other languages (French, Italian, etc.).
I also love learning how to cook dishes from other countries.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always bring a bottle of wine (if the host drinks wine; otherwise, another beverage) and love to chat, learning about the host & the host's city. I love sharing stories from my own life and experiences, too. I also love to host someone in my home who previously hosted me in theirs.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, England, Fiji, France, Greenland, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, New Zealand, South Korea, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
