About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoying the life I've worked so hard for, and not forgetting to still enjoy traveling!
ABOUT ME
I'm a Canadian veterinarian, living in the beautiful Grey/Bruce county in Ontario, Canada. I lived in Edinburgh for 5 years while doing my veterinary degree and got a taste for traveling the world!
I love to be outdoors and enjoy hiking, exploring, anything that involves water (but especially scuba diving and sailing). It's probably obvious that I also love animals - I have a beautiful dog and 2 cats.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I spent 4 weeks traveling around Europe while I was in vet school and absolutely loved the surfing world! While I don't live in a particularly popular part of the world to see, I'm a short drive from some of Ontario's best sites! I'm happy to host if you're looking to explore some of Ontario's beautiful spots.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had a few surfing experiences and they were absolutely fantastic! I love it! I can't wait to return the favor and host people myself, and also look forward to future couch surfing experiences.
Interests
Anything to do with water: Scuba diving, swimming, boating/sailing, sitting on a beach/lake shore. Am slowly learning how to Kitesurf, but its a slow process!
Outdoors: Hiking, Camping, anything really.
Reading (anything), Music (anything except rap/metal... don't play music unfortunately). And meeting new people/traveling to new destinations.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Country, Pop, Rock, the list goes on... Basically anything goes except rap/heavy metal. I'll usually listen to anything at least once.
Movies: World's Fastest Indian, Shawshank Redemption, Fried Green Tomatoes, Pride and Prejudice, Invictus, basically any chick flick, action, usually pretty easy to please.
Books: Anything I can read that grabs my attention in the first few pages. I love reading, and don't think I could pick any particular favorites....
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The northern lights on a clear night in Alberta, Canada where there was also an amazing harvest moon and you could see every star in the sky.
The decision to leave my family for 5 years to pursue my dream of becoming a vet by living in Scotland - the people I've met and places while living in the UK have truly enriched my life!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an excellent Euchre tutor (fantastic card game, which requires 4 people, invite some friends round and I'll teach you how to play). I also passionately love my country, so anything you want to know about Canada and I will do my best to teach you what I know. There are some things I can cook reasonably well, and am happy to cook for hosts/surfers equally - I love to cook for people and have people round for dinner :)
I would love to learn some new languages, even if just enough to get me by on my travels. I also want to see how other people live in different parts of the world.
Countries I’ve Visited
