About Me

I consider myself to be a free, dreamy, happy and joyful person.
I am currently 39 years old, I hold a degree in engineering and apart from that I have training in dance. This allows for two parallel and very distinct professional worlds.
I dance in an inclusive Portuguese dance company with various types of disabilities. This project is all that I have in my life, the most important and where I feel the happiest and the most fulfilled.
When it comes to travelling, I've let myself get lost in some countries in inumerous ways. Right now my favorite way to travel is through backpacking and sharing an even closer experience with people, because for me, life is all about sharing moments and experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because in the words of the Brazilian singer Silva, “I want to share the good life with you”.
More important than getting to know a place, is important to know who lives there. Their interests, traditions, likes and dislikes, ways of living and being, which makes us all different and so interesting. It's a good sharing, experience.

Interests

I am part of an inclusive dance project and so I am very interested in this area.
In addition, I am interested in other social causes as well as getting to know new cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music very much and I am very eclectic in my tastes, however I prefer listening to jazz and bossa nova.
I also love reading and the book I recommend is from a Portuguese author, who is also a traveler, called Afonso Cruz “Jalan Jalan”.
As for the movies I've seen lately, I recommend Lion. A film based on a true story, which touched me especially after having met, a Peruvian boy (while I was in Cuba) who went through the same experience as in the movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't say that I have done amazing things, but I have had amazing experiences through sharing life.
One month of volunteering in Tanzania school projects to help reduce child accidents.
Dance classes in a men's prison facility.
Dancing with people with various types of disabilities

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach dancing for couples or pairs (salsa, cha-cha-cha, bachata, etc.) or contemporary dance exercises.
I like to learn new things from various fields.
We can share travel stories, tours, go to the local market, go see a music show, etc..

What I Can Share with Hosts

With my hosts I can share a good conversation, I can cook typical Portuguese food, enjoy their company and help with anything they might need.

Belgium, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Cuba, Dominican Republic, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Tanzania, Turkey
