About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Dream, learn and discover

ABOUT ME

I'm a talkative open person, who likes traveling, meeting people and learning new about languages and cultures. I might be little bit lazy sometimes but I like to justify it with my Italian origins.
I like reading and recently I discover myself being passionate about writing too.
I love cooking (Italian food is my specialty) and having dinner with friends.
I like watching and doing any kind of sport, with special regard to swimming (which I have done for more than 10 years) and mountain biking.

PHILOSOPHY

I pursue the philosophy of "Live and let live" and I give much importance in respecting people and cultures. I believe that respecting each others we might be able to make our dreams become true without interfering with other people wishes.
But I'm not always such a dreamer, sometimes I need to face up with the reality too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I learned from CS from a friend and I liked the idea behind it.
I'm temporarily in Switzerland for a summer job and I'll be back in Japan at the end of this year. Last time I lived in Japan I was staying in the dorm of the company for which I was working and I wasn't thus allowed to host people.
From next year (when I'll be back in Japan and will have my own apartment) I'm planning to start hosting people for the Kansai area (Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My CouchSurfing experience is momently limited to one visit in South Korea, but I used to have many guests in my apartment at the time I was university student. Most of them where friends I met somewhere during my trips but I often had the chance to meet friends of my roommates too, sharing with them great times.

Interests

I'm a multitasking person who changes very rapidly and easily its interests. Beside being interested in all the topics related to traveling and cultures I like science and technology too, which is probably the reason why I studied engineering. I'm interested in sports too, but although being of Italian mother language and don't like soccer so much. So I'm sorry if I might disappoint you by not knowing at all the names of famous players...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 16 years old I created a kind of boat by mixing an old bicycle, a motorcycle engine and many empty big bottles. Riding it I had a 5 km trip on a lake near my home.
Unfortunately due to lack of time I couldn't continue the project although there were many ways to improve my small boat.
There is much more about crazy/stupid stuff, but I don't want to write everything here...

I hitch-hiked from Osaka to Kagoshima (Japan - almost 1000 km) in about 3 full days riding 16 cars and meeting awesome people. That was a beautiful experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

- I can teach about the language/culture of my homeland (Switzerland/Italy), but I might become subjective in the description
- I can teach swimming
- I can teach/cook some easy (but delicious plate) of Italian cuisine (I think eating is one of the best way to experience cultures: ingredients, foods, way of cooking, way of eating,...)
- I want to learn about your culture/language with some reference to history and actual problematic/strengths
- Learn about food and local cuisine is something very interesting too
