About Me

Julie and I have a small hobby farm 25kms inland from Murwillumbah.
The region is sub tropical.

There is a separate guest room in our shed with a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom/shower.

We're happy to host friendly, positive travelers, and if you are willing to do a bit of work around the place that's ok too and much appreciated. Since we also host guests through Helpx, we give priority those willing to give us a helping hand around the property.

Sometimes we have jam nights with musician friends and new musicians are welcome.

Julie and I travel to SE Asia each year and enjoy a diversity of cultures and personalities.

CS for me is a lot more than providing a free bed. We enjoy sharing with people, and expect the same from guests.

We have lots of small jobs and projects around our little farm. If you are willing to help, enthusiastic, not afraid of getting your hands dirty, we will be happy to accommodate you. Meals and accommodation offered as usual.

There is a home gym in the shed which you are welcome to use. I try to exercise regularly to fight off old age so often I have a few aching and knotted muscles. Anyone with therapeutic massage skills is very welcome!
I also have good massage skills, so can offer my services when required. Just ask!

If you like to drink beer or wine then bring it with you!
If you want to stay in bed till 11.am, do not like doing dishes (after we have shared our meals with you) and generally expect us to clean up after you, then you should look elsewhere, fair enough?
It is not a free hotel with room service.

If you are a couple and speak another language it would be polite to speak in English when in our company most of the time.

Sept 1, 2022 We are not a business and cannot help you get a visa or sponsor anyone to get a visa, sorry!
If I get any more requests I will not reply.

Just to show that you have read this, please state in your request:
"I am happy to share and contribute".

Cheers

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy meeting energetic people with enthusiasm for life, learning about different cultures and making new friends.
When I travel, my greatest memories are the people I meet, more so than the places. I try to avoid popular tourist spots where there are hundreds of people rushing around taking selfies. If there are tourist buses in the parking area, I would rather be somewhere else, interacting with local people. The location is unimportant.
