About Me

Current Mission: Traveling through Europe for the first time for a two week visit.

I like real adventures; freezing peaks and steaming jungles, crashing waves and raging rivers; if it gets my heart pumping and my blood racing, I’m in.

I have a "Live and Let Live" philosophy in life, and show much respect for privacy and offer great communication as a guest (and host). My interests are philosophy, history, and forbidden archeology, among many others. Sometimes, I feel that I was born to travel and explore, and to be in good company while sharing insights, hearty discussions, tales of discoveries, and lot's of funny stories. Unpretentious and unconventional, I have a genuine interest in other people in their surroundings.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Many times I have hosted travelers that I've met by happenstance while living and working in my country. Most were international travelers, some were domestic. I have found all of them to be wonderful gueststhe and the experience rich and memorable. Now, as I travel, I would like to continue the gratification from a different perspective.

CULTURAL EXCHANGE

Travel is about the people you meet along the way during your journey of discovery and learning what makes their heart sing. I have traveled North America extensively, having 49 out of the 50 US states, portions of Mexico and Canada. Now, it is my turn to explore parts of Europe. Besides, I can offer much more than stories, as I'm very handy around the house, can dice, slice, shake and bake, mow the lawn, teach windsurfing, and even fix your watch. LOL.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bob Dylan, John Hiatt, Mark Knopfler, Roxy Music, Cowboy junkies are my main staple. Music interests are eclectic and broad, rangings from folk, blues, some jazzy tunes, electronic (Tangerine Dream), vocal (Coctau Twins) R&B.

A few of the Movie Directors I like are David Lynch, Darren Aronovsky, Alain Cavalier. I've enjoyed all of their films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked into the bottom of the Grand Canyon from the 8900 ft North Rim.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a wealth of real life experiences and has often been said that I'm a natural story teller. It's my natural wonderment about life and the ability to find humor in every experience...good or bad. I find the different personalities and cultures of people is what makes the adventure, and love to share these tales with others that are interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Being courteous and considerate, I can offer energetic conversation of many different topics. I can be an 'out of the box' thinker and am genuinely interested in others. Can cook up a great meal and do dishes, also. Batteries not included.
