About Me

I can only describe myself as a passionate and fun loving person who does not want to leave any stone unturned in my quest to enjoy my life. I have been relentlessly pursuing my dream of travel and find that it gives me so much more than I ever thought.

My wandering soul is always calling to me to go off on another adventure and meet new people and experience everything possible. I love to be spontaneous and make decisions on a whim whenever possible. A plan is great but the unexpected is even better.

I love a challenge and to push the boundaries wherever I can. When I think I can't do it, that is when I know I must do it.

PHILOSOPHY

Explore. Dream. Discover.

Never regret the things you do only the things you don't do.

I believe I live my life simply and genuinely. For me it's all about the world. This great big world that has so much to offer, so much to teach us, so much to show us. I learn more on the road than I could ever do from a book or by someone teaching me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At present whilst I am travelling I want to experience couch surfing to meet like minded people and to share locals perspectives on their areas.

When I get home to Australia I want to be a host and show people my beautiful country and in particular my city of Melbourne. Having travelled a lot I have had so many people help me along the way and its nice to contribute back to the community in some way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I would consider myself to be a seasoned Couchsurfer now. It certainly changes your whole travel experience, having the opportunity to meet new and interesting locals, speak the language and opens you up to opportunities you would otherwise not have been presented. It's more than just having a bed, it's an opportunity to share stories and travel ideas and to understand a culture from the local viewpoint. My experiences have always been extremely positive and I am thankful for all the people I have been privileged to meet so far.

Interests

Travel and sport are my two biggest passions but its more about the people you meet and the atmosphere involved.

Another great passion is reading and books in general. I love learning new things, about history, stories of people's lives. I'm a traditionalist in that I love to have the actual book...

Very interested in photography, mainly through my travels. Intent to create a whole wall of the world in my house with pictures of amazing faces and places I've been.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've spent a month sailing Antarctica and I can honestly say it was the most amazing experience of my life! The frozen continent is something else, there are no words that can truly describe its beauty and having the fortune to sail in a yacht was an experience I could never have imagined in a lifetime. This precious place has changed me forever and my heart is now bursting with a new knowledge only gain from such a place.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share my knowledge of the world that I have visited so far. What I have learned from those I've met and from being out and alone in the world, although never really alone.

I am always thirsty for more knowledge - to learn new ways of doing things, of being and more and more knowledge about the world itself. The people, the history....its so exciting to learn about this.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love sharing stories about travel and also learning from other peoples' experiences. When I stay with a host I also love to share a meal where possible and exchange cultures in whatever way possible.
