About Me

I live with my husband Paul and our cat (and our daughter and son when they're home). That's just our house; we are part of a three-family, four house cohousing community, made up of me and my husband, Paul's sister and brother-in-law, and my 89-year-old daddy. Each family lives in separate houses, and we gather together to dine every evening, or have breakfast, or play the piano, etc. I'm a manual therapist with a thriving practice, including lots of 'gigs' doing sound healing; my husband is an artist using Zometool and doing workshops around the country and the world. Together, we speak French, German, Spanish and Swedish in various degrees of fluency. We love good food (we're pretty good cooks) and we love to cook for people. We'll point you to the good places to eat and what to see around here- we're close to Boulder and not far from Denver, and we're familiar with both places. I'm vaccinated and boosted, plus I've had COVID so my body knows all about the virus!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love people, and couchsurfing seems like a community-building idea, which I'm in favor of. I like the idea of welcoming people into my home; I tend to think the best of people, and I love to meet new folks and make new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Classical Indian; Baroque; choral and vocal music; classical guitar; harp.

Movies: Uplifting movies that make you think, like 'Samsara'. I also like the occasional fantasy film; I enjoy old Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire movies.

Books: The Tao te Ching; Angela's Ashes; Miss Rumphius (child's book); books on Buddhism

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That depends on what you consider 'amazing'! I think everyone is amazing, just by being themselves. As my then-four-year-old daughter sang to a lady in the post office, 'The miracle you live, the miracle you die, the miracle you live, the miracle you die...' The lady asked her, "What does that mean, little girl?", to which my daughter replied, "That means you're AMAZING!"

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to share my joys and passions; I love to find out who you are by talking to you and listening to what moves you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a meal with you, cook with you or cook for you! I love to talk philosophy, Buddhism, and about the wonders of the body. I'm a good listener, so if you need to talk, I'm happy to just hear what you have to say.

If you happen to have some Palestrina or Monteverdi and like to sing, let's do it! Or, teach me your folk songs (or your drinking songs, I'll just have a lemonade, thank you).
