About 9 years ago I sold my house, quit my job, and decided to live frugally off the proceeds as I find a way to make a way of life with my music and my passion. I have very low overhead which affords me the time to work on my self and my music, definitely in that order, though they are intimately connected. By the grace of friends, I was living in a cabin in a rural area of Southwestern Virginia, not far from Roanoke and Blacksburg (Virginia Tech) and just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Those friends have since moved to Maine and I got an opportunity to move to Roanoke.

I now live and "keep an eye on" an elderly woman who is the mother of a friend. The house is in a suburban neighborhood in Roanoke and there is indeed an extra bedroom, so I may be able to host if the timing is right.

I am very easy to get along with. I am a good listener, and I can get quite animated when the repartee goes both ways. I also know how to let folks have their own space ...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am hoping the music I am developing will take me to many places, and when I go to these places I can think of no better way to stay than to meet a new friend who can lovingly put me up for a night or two.

I was indeed active with Couchsurfing a few years back, but for some reason my account is no longer here! Hmmmm .... I did host about five sets of people and once stayed in Ohio with a very nice guy as well as in the Asheville, NC area and Wilkes-Barre in late 2018 while traveling for the holidays. I suppose I just wanted to mention this lest you feel that I am a complete newbie to this, though there would be no harm in that either, I suppose.
