About Me

ABOUT ME

My friends would say that I am an easy going person, and that I am interested in doing a wide variety of fun things. Enjoying live music, talking about politics and philosophy, and of course travelling and adventuring to new places.

Interests

I enjoy reading novels, normally fiction, science fiction, and some non-fiction.

Obviously I love bicycles, since I am going on the road cycle touring.

Languages: I speak English and Spanish and am learning Turkish, and would like to continue speaking more.

Other than that I enjoy being in the outdoors and staying active.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One moment that left me awestruck was when I travelled to Mardin, Turkey and hiked up to the top of the Mardin Castle in the middle of the night. I had seen it from a far when I arrived into the town, but at night when I was up there, you could see the only lights shining were the ones illuminating the castle, and down below it was pitch black fields of crops, and the glimmer of the Tigris River. I was in awe of the old Anatolian history of this place and couldn't imagine any other time to see this place, I will never forget it.

Another moment that left me awestruck was in Guatemala where I climbed the ancient ruins at Tikal. These were some of the oldest Mayan ruins in Central America, and the moment where I realized that this would be unforgettable was when I finished the 200 foot rope climb to the top of the pyramid. It was nestled deep in the Peten Rainforest and all you could see from the top was green canopy, and standing on a very steep ledge to look out for miles and miles. I was in awe of the construction of the pyramid and how it had stood for so long, as well as how I didn't fall off the slippery ladders to reach that point.
