About Me

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” – Mark Twain

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, I first got the insatiable urge to travel more when I was in high school and living as a foreign exchange student in Switzerland.

Professionally, I'm trained as a Materials Science/Nanotechnology Engineer and since college have worked as an engineer, management consultant, and then run a small business. Currently when I'm not traveling, I am either running the family business of a flight school and private charter company, or I'm working as an independent operations/management consultant.

I'm an avid traveler, photographer, and foodie. I love to meet new people, share my experiences, and learn more about others'.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The best way to get to know a place is by getting to know the people who live there. I think Couchsurfing is an excellent way to meet people I would not have otherwise met.

In addition to meeting people away from home, I would also like to meet like-minded people locally.

Interests

I have a pilot's license and fly small planes.
I love landscape/travel photography and always have some sort of camera around my neck or in my pocket.
Traveling is my greatest passion. I'm constantly itching to go somewhere new.
Golf is my favorite sport and I am now down to about a 10 handicap. I dream of shooting even par and getting a hole in one some day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year I flew around the world in a Beechcraft Bonanza A36. I visited 16 different countries over the course of two months and met some really friendly people, ate delicious food, and had unforgettable life experiences. I could go on forever talking about this and recommending people take their own version of an around the world trip!
