About Me

I'm a graphic and exhibition designer in charge of a wicked team at my workplace. I'm responsible for making sure everything always looks on point.

Outside of work I am always taking on new projects and doing my own artwork - basically working far too much, but the idea of being bored would kill me - plus it's not working if you love it right?

I have lived in Dunedin throughout my study, and managed to find a sweet job. I tried to quit once, but realised rather than running away to a new city, why don't I try and make this one what I want it to be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Introduced to couch surfing by my old flatmate, we have hosted heaps of awesome people in our sweet place. In the last year I’ve bought my own house and have some cool flatmates, so it seemed natural to continue to meet awesome people who I wouldn’t otherwise have the chance of getting to share some this city with.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: well I own about 700 CDs, and now starting on expanding my vinyl collection - the designer in me insists I need to waste all of my money on having a collection of beautiful physical products to hold in my hand.

Ultimately a pop kid at heart I now veer towards more weird alternative sounds, apart from going weak at the knees for a standout pop jam that will be replayed for weeks.

Most recent favourite new-ish albums include Fred Again, Gossip, Cub Sport, Kim Petras, Tove Lo, Fever Ray, Yves Tumor, Shygirl, George Clanton, Romy, Troye Sivan, Slayyyter, Kylie, Charli XCX, Lana Del Rey, Caroline Polachek, Erny Belle, SG Lewis, Lil Peep and Yeule.

Movies: I don't seem to have enough of an attention span to commit to watching a movie unless I know I am going to enjoy it or it has a phenomenal soundtrack. All time fave is Donnie Darko. Also really liked Boyhood, My Own Private Idaho, Fear and Loathing, Get Out, the majority of Quentin Tarantino films (and Spice World)

Books: The Alchemist, Twelve, and i have the entire series of Goosebumps packed away in a box somewhere from my childhood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being selected to attend the UnSchool of Disruptive Design fellowship in Melbourne and being a co-host for the Christchurch fellowship alongside the UnSchool founder and 2016 United Nations Environmental Program Champion of the World for Science and Innovation - and being able to bring that knowledge back to share with my work and community.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Wicked new bands you should check out, and all the cool places you need to see in my city, and the great collection of art in my house. Pick my brain on most topics.
