About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To use my creativity to build community and bring people together

ABOUT ME

I am a thinker, a dreamer, an artist and musician. I see and hear the world with wonder and delight. When the sun paints shadows on my wall in the morning, the flickering vines jumping like a cat onto my bed, I am happy to be alive, and happy to be here, now.

PHILOSOPHY

I am connected to every living being in the universe. My life is a gift, to enjoy and celebrate. I am learning to live attentively in each moment, to respond with integrity and respect and joy to people around me, to see the perfection in our brokenness and the beauty in our mortality.
I struggle to make the world better, more just. I strive to express our connectedness in my words and my art. I learn to giggle more, read more, and not to be afraid.

Interests

Music and theatre, film and photography, radio, sketching, animating, script-writing, poetry.
Ecology, vegetarianism, philosophy, living sustainably, anarchism, feminism, activism for social change, human rights and women's rights.
Hiking, travelling, meeting people who think differently from me.
String theory, Japanese wood prints, origami.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 23 I lived in Guatemala for a year. I spent 3 months living and working as a volunteer at an orphanage in Guatemala city. I would help with the younger children, play them my mandolin and draw with them.
Before I returned home to Australia, I arranged with a friend to take in three huge cakes for the children, Pastel de tres leches(three milks cake). The children were so happy, so delighted. I will never forget their smiles. Their friendship with me has changed how I see the world and still helps ward off indifference to others problems.
