About Me

I'm a New Zealander living on the outskirts of Tokyo. Been here for over a year now and plan to be here for a few more.

I enjoy getting in amongst a variety of things that happen in Tokyo. Festivals, pub quizzes, arts events, gigs and can always be convinced into a cheeky beer or ten on Friday or Saturday.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It seems like a fantastic way to find new friends in far-flung places. Living in New Zealand makes you feel very secluded because you really are so far away from everywhere else.

I want to close this gap meet some amazing people and have some stories to tell my friends when I get back.

Music, Movies, and Books

Banks, alt-J, Jorja Smith, Frank Ocean, Sampha, Fortunes., Solange, Childish Gambino, MUNA, Chvrches, Mike & Bone, Lorde, Jack Garratt, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, Oh Wonder, Wet, The 1975, Kanye West... I could go on for years but it'd be better just to show you Spotify. I /love/ music and will listen to almost anything. I also occasionally do reviews.

My favourite movie is Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist which is terrible but I love it. I'm also really fond of a lot of queer cinema such as Shelter, Jongens and North Sea Texas. Otherwise, I love to watch films but I don't particularly have favourites.

There's not a huge amount of time for me to read books but I read a lot of magazines such as Frankie, Hello Mr and Vice's i-D.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived an entire year without a fixed abode. Not hugely impressive but important to me, especially in showing myself I can do anything if I set my mins to it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook and bake and have a pretty decent repertoire of recipes at my disposal. I'm always up for learning new languages and am really like to be able to pick them up pretty quickly, I'm also pretty good at helping people with their English skills.
