About Me

I love train travel, languages, typography, illustration, donuts, and talking with other creatives over tea. I prefer to go slow when traveling, and the people I meet are the best part of my journey.

I'm married to a beautiful Ecuadorian who's the best travel partner imaginable. I'd like to introduce her to the world of CSing and see if it affects her as much as it has me.

PHILOSOPHY

Good things happen when you leave the house. But also, staying home can be the best.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just beginning my reunion tour with CS. It's been 4 years since I've surfed myself, and what a long 4 years that was.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had the pleasure of staying with hosts on four continents, in 12+ countries, and am continually amazed by the generosity and kindness of the people I meet.

Interests

I have a wide, ever-growing curiosity about history, music, design, languages, climate change/science, and cooking, to name a few.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Classical, jazz, a bit of rock, and dash of K-POP

Books: 5 favorite books I’ve read lately:
1. Wild by Cheryl Strayed
2. Around the World in 80 Trains by Monisha Rajesh
3. South of Border, West of the Rising Sun by Haruki Murakami
4. Give People Money by Annie Lowery
5. How Fascism Works by Jason Stanley

Shows: Sherlock, House, Top Chef, Flight of the Chonchords, Impractical Jokers, Top Chef

Food: anything and everything, but I don't do olives or bleu cheese.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I competed in an eleven team race through Europe with my mother. We hauled ass and got 4th place. Not bad considering we started in last.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you to cook, strum a song on the guitar, improve your design skills, and of course, teach you about Minneapolis.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Cuba, France, Georgia, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Japan, Macao, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, France, Georgia, Japan, United States
