About Me

I am continually curious about life and love adventure. I am passionate about co-creating a future where more and more people can reach their full potential and indeed about discovering what we can evolve on the frontiers of our potential. I love being out in nature, creating things, sharing ideas, and rediscovering things from new perspectives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am eager to see more of the world and connect with people from other cultures. There are so many fascinating frontiers that are emerging and while we face some amazing challenges at this point in time, we have amazing resources in the imagination and creativity of people all over. It really feels like a great time for connecting these impulses and ideas so we help a beautiful future emerge, and it feels essential that our greatest answers will come through collaboration and understanding found between cultural exchange and collaboration found in sharing experiences, perspectives and insights :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, so I'll just share a few. I'm really loving vintage Bossa Nova these days, I love experimental and electronic of sorts (Boards of Canada), classical & modern orchestral music (Chopin, Arvo Part, Philip Glass), and more than anything I love when people are clearly making music from their heart and sharing it however they can :)

Movies...I'm actually hoping to get some more recommendations for mind-bending, magical realism movies--these seem to be among my very favorite...
Kirasawa's Dreams
Wings of Desire
Fried Green Tomatoes
Amelie
A Very Long Engagement
The Shawshank Redemption
Blue, Rouge & Blanc
Jean de Flourette
The Fall
The Secret of Roan Innish
Ghost

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped reduce the amount of coal my community uses annually by hundreds of tons for now and for the years to come through raising awareness and helping people adopt solar energy as their primary source :)

Road on horseback for 12 hours across the continental divide in the Rocky Mountains. Nothing like it really--it felt like I'd traveled for months and through all the seasons too. Magical pilgrimage...

Teach, Learn, Share

Hugelkultur--this could be the wave of the future in farming though it's an ancient technique. This is one among many exciting methods that are being rediscovered and implemented that are not only gorgeous in their vision and actuality but are extremely practical. These and other methods in permaculture give us the opportunity to really learn with and collaborate with nature--beautiful!!! :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I practice and teach meditation, yoga, and sound healing and I would be happy to share some of this goodness with you. I sing and would love to jam with you too if you're in touch with your musical side. In general, I just like to help out where I can. I have a flair with the spices when it comes to cooking and I always enjoy contemplating life and the cosmos with others while cooking up a great meal.
