About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoying living with my four children, and looking for opportunities to introduce them to other cutltures

ABOUT ME

I love scuba diving and spearing fish, and have dived in several countries. When not diving I can usually be found on my jetskiis or enjoying Florida life.

PHILOSOPHY

Carpe Diem, and this quote from an Eagles song 'You can spend all your time making money, or you can spend all your money making time'.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined CS, because whenever I've travelled, I've always sought out ways to go 'off the beaten path'. Whether staying at a B&B, or camping or renting an apartment - I simply refuse to stay at hotels!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Perhaps my favorite couch surfing experience was when I was in a singing group in High School. We took a 3 week tour across North America and Canada, singing and staying with a different host family every night. I loved it and would love to offer a similar experience to my kids.

Interests

We have a grand piano, a guitar and a BBQ to cook all the fish we shoot. My kids love to sing and talk, and meeting quality new people is always fun!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Renting an RV motorhome in Havana and touring the entire island while scuba diving and spearing fish in a new town every day; and bringing fish back to the people who let us park our RV at their home. Enjoying the fiesta as everyone ate fish and salsa danced to a cubalibra. Letting their kids watch movies on our laptop while we were out diving and simply loving the way the kids hugged the toys and clothes we gave as we left.

Snowmobiling above the treeline at the continental divide in the Canadian Rockies, and cooking our lunch in tinfoil on the hot engines of our sleds.

Shooting class 5 rapids while whitewater rafting on the Kickinghorse River, and stopping for some cliffdiving along the way.

Running off a perfectly good mountain in Rio DeJaneirao and flying over the ocean while hang gliding. Walking into the favelas (slums) and making friends over a cold beverage. Body surfing.

Spearing a 50 pound cobia off the back of a 300 pound bullshark, and reliving the story with friends over a freshly grilled cobia steak.

Photoraphing 500 pound goliath grouper with a visiting photographer from National Geographic. Hand feeding a 12' shark while volunteering with the University of Miami Lemon Shark project.

Bungee jumping off a perfectly good bridge in Costa Rica!?? LOL Then ziplining through the jungle.

Sailing the Virgin Islands, and snorkeling in massive schools of fish that encircled me while I swam.

Diving WWII shipwrecks in Subic Bay, Philippines, honored to visit the brave men who fought and died for our freedom.

Taking countless Harley Tours through the Canadian Rockies, the Coast of Maine and Maritime Provinces, and Costa Rica, and getting to take my son on the back of my bike for some of his birthdays.

Counting cards and winning a ridiculous amount of money at black jack in New Orleans, then strolling down Bourbon Street and taking in the sights.

Diving and spearing amazing fish in the Dry Tortugas, then sleeping beside the Civil War Fort Jefferson under a full moon.

Swimming with the dolphins beside my boat in the Bahamas -which is only 50 miles from where I live in Florida!? Amazing. They're so beautiful.

My first shark feeding dive in Roatan Honduras. Since then I've seen more sharks feeding than I wanted to, and it hasn't always been planned.

Looking up to see a school of rare spotted eagle rays swimming above me as a finished a dive.

And I can't wait for the next amazing things!
