About Me

I cannot tell you who I am. Check references if you feel that they are objective enough. Or come and meet me, we have a drink, explore around or just have a nice chat. Meanwhile, I'd like to tell you what I like and don't like.

*I use irony heavily and even use it as a defence mechanism.
*When I find a song I like, I listen to it constantly until I don't like it anymore.
*I like breaking stereotypes and prejudices in people's minds and I get better at it every time.
*I like cocktails. Are you good at making cocktails? :)
*Oh, I like breaking the silence and dragging people out of their comfortable silence zone.
*I like independent and spontaneous people and believe that lack of expectations opens up endless possibilities.
*I like people who challenge me intellectually.
*I like people who think that the glass is completely full: half with water and other half with air. ;)

Oh I cannot believe you have read all these looong sentences. Mention your patience in your couch request and I'll prepare Turkish coffee for you ;)

PHILOSOPHY

Quote from Marjane Satrapi (Iranian novelist, cartoonist):
"The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we do not know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I happily host, surf and meet people. I hang out with them, party with them, learn from them and they change my life and hopefully I change theirs a bit in some way.

Interests

Quite diverse. Lazy to write about them

Music, Movies, and Books

I like reading. A few books that I have enjoyed reading lately:
Kafka on the Shore and Norwegian Wood - by Haruki Murakami
Turtles all the way down - by John Green
Thinking fast and slow - by Daniel Kahneman
Hunger - by Knut Hamsun
The Unbearable Lightness of Being - by Milan Kundera
Alamut - by Vladimir Bartol
When Nietzsche Wept, The Schopenhauer Cure - by Irvin Yalom

A few of my favorite movies:The Usual Suspects, Lock, stock and two smoking barrels, 12, The Kite Runner, Das Experiment, Adams Aebler

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rafting on Tara river.

I have really enjoyed all these small differences in culture and languages. Ex: After peeling the label of a beer in an Australian pub everybody was laughing at me -> peeling label = being sexually frustrated. :O

Oh and sometimes there is coffee smell in my neighbourhood due to the nearby coffee factory which magically makes me smile on my way home.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Sweden, Thailand, Turkey
