About Me

Hello there!

I've recently moved back to Malaysia after studying abroad in Korea for 5 years. I won't be able to host people over my place at the moment until I've got things settled down here. :)

Being an engineer doesn't limit my brain to only look at the world in an ordered, systematic, and logical way to comprehend it's beauty. The "non-engineer" side of me appreciate randomness and our differences cross-culturally and that makes this world a more interesting place. I prefer to venture into the underground part of a city and randomly getting myself into some random local festivals despite having no idea what it is about. I like meeting new people and laugh at our differences and be fascinated by our similarities. I believe in respecting others, and expect the same way from you.

I'll leave out the rest for you to to find out when we actually meet!

If you read this, type "couchsurfing rocks" when you send me couch request or messages.

PHILOSOPHY

Friendship is not measured by how long you spend time together but rather by the experiences that are shared together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing isn't a getaway to free accommodation, you can always camp anywhere for that. Visiting a place to me isn't all about going to overly crowded "tourist traps", but ideally, to get a taste of the culture, experiencing first hand the life of the locals'. I started off couchsurfing by hosting people for the first 2 years and I couldn't agree more on the fact that mingling with locals/expats, provide you that "backstage privilege" of a country you would never get to experience being in a hotel/hostel.

I really like a TED talk presented by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: The danger of a single story. It opened my eyes to go out more and complete the missing pieces of the stereotypes that more often than not lead to misunderstanding. The best way to approach this single story is to mingle with the locals/expats and what better way to do that other than Couchsurfing.

Interests

Experiencing other culture, home-made food, and things that are completely different from what I'm used to. And more importantly, making new friends and sharing good moment together.

I enjoy eating and food hunting, outdoor activities, movies, talking about pretty much anything, go partying and the list goes on.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't really read books in general but here are a few of the books that I've read.
J.K Rowling's Harry Potter, and All the light we cannot see by Doerr.

I'd say I'm an open minded person and I listen to a wide spectrum of music from EDM, rap, classic rock, pop, to Gregorian chants! I appreciate every music for its beauty and uniqueness.
